.05 is not what I am looking for either but it will get rid of all the bashers that just continually get on my nerves. Plus if it goes to .05 then we know it can go a lot higher. I hope it comes out higher myself.

Some may think they are being taken on for a ride with the Dinars.. thats their rumor as you all will gladly believe too... well, lets get the real feeling in a ride with a Humvee in Baghdad... the way it usually is...

I posted last night but I think it was removed for spelling or something, anyway I was thinking about an article that came out last week about how the banks are no longer wanting to eccept the smaller denoms from people because they are so worthless and it takes so many of them to ad up to a descent amount, I don't remember if it was the MOF or not that was hinting about how this will not be the case forever and that they should indeed eccept the lower denoms. (something like that)
Maybe this is the week that they are distributing even smaller denoms to the other banks/traders.?

Man, wciappetta, that is the biggest understatement that I have heard in awhile. I have done business with middle easterners before, and it always about haggling. It is never straight forward, which is why we both (west and east) can never seem to understand each other. Each side just has a different mindset. Haggling is like a sports match for them. When its over its no harm no foul, even if they just gutted your best friend Fido. Just the way they think....

Sorry, I spent a while cleaning up the thread earlier trying to get all of the posts that were argumentative and I may have got 1 or 2 that didn't need to be deleted...

    Thanks!

    Thank you. :)

    1. The budget was approved with an exchange rate of 1260. That's only 12 points from what we has last week and this week. Why the dragging? As CBI proved before, they could get the rate to 1260 in one or two shots....

    2. ISX to open on April 15th, with no trading on the 11th - something here?

    3. We know the FIL is enacted, but there is no sign of its implementation except governmental contracts - still waiting on procedures - something is holding

    4. CBI sets rates for 2-4 days at a time. While the rate doesn't change, CBI buys dinars big time , prices " stable" on the market, but see point 6

    5. ICI on May 3rd - if contracts signed and debt forgiveness implemented, shouldn't we have a new rate by then?

    6. Why announce a new Monetary Policy, why have a Banking Conference in Amman about it ( with no specific news following) and why articles showing up telling people to hold on buying goods, unless strictly necessary? If the new rate would be 1260 ( from 1271), how much will it impact the market price?

    7. On a bigger scale, the dollar took another beating today...we need that oil in Iraq to sustain it...and we need it fast... pegging to the dollar needed ASAP...I don't believe that ever the Iraqi oil will be sold in Euros ( yes, for debt forgiveness pourposes, it will be sold also in dinar, but that's another story)

It is a puzzle, but we can't stop wondering about these, can we?

I was also thinking about the rumours ...dealers are still selling dinar...banks are still seling dinar...in my opinion they are not better informed than us and they will be just as surprised as we will be when it happens. So , if the dealer still sells dinars, it is not because an RV is not close, but it would be mostly because they have no clue how close it is - just like us.

All right, I am done...phhheww...Someone, give me a beer!

And please someone correct me where I am wrong. So I get it out of my head.
Agree whole heartedly with everything you had to say Jola. Everything you said falls into my see or feel categories of my previous post, so all I can say is they simply have me scratching my head, as all of it points to a RV.

All I can say is we are definitely in a battle for the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people and their future. There are definitely people that want this to fail and they are prepared to screw a lot of people to make that happen. I just hope that we (the American people) have the stomach to not let that happen.
