Didn't we go thru this about this time last year? I'm not complaining just hope that something happens this time. It is pionting to a reval.

Yeah, but do you remember what was going on last year?? Sure there were rumors, but as far as solid governemental progress I think this time last year we were waiting for parliament to be seated...what a difference between last year and now....they actually have policies in place for foreign investment in the ISX, and Korea just outbid Germany and Finland (Ithink) and won a contract to build power stations...just two examples of SOLID PROGRESS!

Amen, OSWoman - it's so hard not to be impatient and disgusted with the delays, but we've come a long way baby! Two years ago the ISX was conducted on dry-erase boards in a bombed-out former restaurant. Very few companies were on it initially as they had new criteria set by the CPA regarding amount of govt ownership, Sadaam-relative ownership, and a bunch of other stuff I don't even remember. As can be expected, the private sector is leaps and bounds ahead of the gov't sector. Two years ago they couldn't get parliament to even meet after they were elected... oh, uh, well, nevermind that one, but despite themselves and all of their issues and problems, they are progressing. They absolutely have to do something, and at some point hopefully their pride will kick in - they'll realize that while they've been quibbling about how to get rid of the infidel dollar, the currency in the south is going Iranian, and in the north the Kurds will likely toss the dinar in favor of the euro. Nothing in that scenario that is Iraqi - Sunni OR Shiite. On the other hand, they could fubar the whole thing, which would hose dinar holders, though those in the ISX will be okay because the inherent value of the companies is still there, no matter what currency the ISX deals in. Dang it, Susie, why don't I listen to you the first time?

The currency conference is being held in Saudi Arabia on the 15-17th of April...they will be announcing a raising of currency values (Kuwait will raise by 25% according to Bearclave) and the discussion raised by Iran to peg to the Euro...(America's really concerned because Iran, Vensuala & Indonesia have all switched their peg to the Euro and will not accept US Dollars any more...actually illegal to trade in dollars in each of these countries...if Iran can form a block against the US's only Supporter ...the Saudis...the Saudis might be forced to go along and the abodonment of the US dollar as the currency of the oil trade...this would collapse the dollar and throw American into a terrible depression that might make 1929 seem like a day at the park...)

See why the Americans really need Iraq to come into this conference pegged to the dollar at a good rate to join in the Saudi defense of keeping the dollar the currency of trade...and start to see that the americans might have a more serrious beef with the Iranians than a future nuclear threat...

I saw Supertramp back in the day, Breakfast in America tour when they had the coneheads traveling with them. They played Dreamer and it was the only song I remember that stood out during the concert. Awesome tune.
