I'm thinking it was the initial issue to the banks for the coins in Iraq.

Ok speaking on the topic of coins someone on ebay is selling 500 denom coin in the kurdistan region....I thought they used the same currency as the rest of iraq since the new dinar was introduced. the coin is dated 2006. Can someone expalin these coins...OSW youd probably know the answer.

Ok Sunshine here is my take on this! I have said for two years that we would have to see the lower demos first either in the banks or on the CBI website. If this is true we are very very close to having some kind of RV! However I think it will be alot lower than 1 to 1 but that is for a different thread! Now that been said here is my problem with this rumor! And remember I said MY problem. I have been taught to "believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see!" This is why I never buy into rumors! The trouble I have is you have been a member since Feb 2007 with five posts! Now I am not saying you are not legit, but In 4 years I have seen to many post and runs!! This is very big news if true! This is why I will have to see a picture of the coins first before I can remotely get excited about this. But if you are for real this fits perfectly into my scenario. I hope you keep posting and keep us informed! I hope you don't melt away like countless others.

"Before the end of the next weekend" is this referring to this weekend starting tomorrow, or maybe today in Iraq, or is it next weekend starting March 8th or 9th?

Those Kurdistan Coins have been Minted since 2003 by Hoffman Mint in Carmel, CA. They are minted in Limited quantities. The best you could say is they are Commemorative Coins.
