But there is a fine line between being optimistic and delusional. I love all the rumors and information but all aspects of this venture must be presented.

What would paying the kuwaitess help with anything......

I made a grammatical error. I was alluding to the rumors that there are little to no insurgent activity in places like Kuwait and Bahrain, because they pay off the terrorist. However, I have also wittness 1st hand what the Kuwaitees do if there is allegded insurgent activity. They proceed with extreme predudice. I believe that a reval would do wonders for the Iraqi people. It would definately help to quail sectarian violence. However, it would also negatively effect our numbers and the already stretched morale of the troops.
If it ain't rough it ain't me!

    Thanks for all you do!!

I remember another time and place when some of us were informed that we'd not been in a war, that we'd been in a "police action"...and how hard it was for us to tell the difference, thanks all the same.

When you're back home, I think you'll find the America you left to defend as you left it...God bless it and you.

I can't out-ride, out-rope or out-shoot your computer throwing soldier, but I'd love to think I could pay his bar bill one long steak-eating, beer-drinking, politically incorrect American night.

    I'd be honored!!
Enjoy lots of friends...it really bugs your enemies...if you still have any.

    Spiderman,

I meant no disrespect with my post. I know you are there "living the good life" from other post you have made. I was only being silly with the technicalities with the real reasons we are there.

I too am a Veteran (USAF) of of the war in Iraq. I was there two years myself. Again I was only trying to be silly and didn't mean for you to get to the point that you wanted to "throw your computer across the room". Hang in there a bit longer and when we meet up for the RV party I will have many "cold ones" waiting for you

I estimate that at least 3/4 of supporting civilians would immediately return home to their families and a good 1/2 of the military service members would be so mentally distracted knowing that they have just won the lottery... Not trying to be negative but just my perception on being over here. This is a big topic for us here in Iraq and we fantasize about what we would do if this thing hits. I have yet to talk to anyone that would stay. We are already under staffed and workin 12-16 hours everyday. A Descent R/V would just compound the delima causing a major exodus. I hope and pray for a nice reval but a gradual increase or maybe a .01 or .02 R/V is more likely just to give the people some hope. I pray that I am wrong. Again not trying to be negative.
Thank you for your service...and I mean it! I deal with the military daily so I see first-hand their dedication. I support and always will- those who put their lives on the line to protect our families.
I will and do verbally stand against anyone I hear bad-mouth those who allow the bad-mouthers the freedom to criticize the efforts of our military.

Individually, as much as I would love to see a significant RV, in no way would I want this to happen at the expense of anyone serving (our Country) over there!

Tonight I pray for your safety, as well as the safety of your friends. May you all have a victorious welcome home!!!

    Thank you once again,

Here's hoping dem Dinars support my music habit!

    Rolclub Family,
I really appreciate all of your positive comments and support. I think somewhere in my hasty post I left an impression that I am "In" the military. Eventhough we operate here in Iraq under the premise "one fight one team" I am a civilian working here in Iraq with/for the military. I guess mortars don't discreminate between civilians and soldiers, but I stand in awe and humbled by what the guys I serve encounter daily out in the field. They are true heros and unfortunately some can't afford to invest monetarily in Iraq. When I speculate about how soon the R/V will occur, I do so from the perspective of whats best for the guys in the field. I'm sure that a sudden Reval will eliminate some sectarian violence, but I also think the power that be have considered a sudden fall of in man power caused by the creation of instant Millionaires made from over stresses over worked ordinary people. Support services such as mechanics, food services, Truck Drivers and many other are the lifeline for those guys out there kicking in doors searching for terrorist. I am sure current leadership considers this.

Well you could balance that with the argument that if the RV helped reduce the violence and give the economy the kickstart it needs and jobs are provided, pensions are paid etc. the need for as many troops and civilian support would drop dramtically and so it might be a wash. I think the good the RV would do for Iraq far outweighs the loss of some personel who don't need a job anymore.
    Please, somebody shoot the messenger!

I have read all your post and am determining that you are here for trouble. I hope I am wrong. First off Orginal Spiderman is not in the Military. Second -off you dont speak here for the group. Now, you need to reframe your thoughts and keep your bashing comments of Rolclub members to yourself. Please enjoy the forum as we all try to do. Thanks
