Thank you. I also would like what they say to be true, I just know that it is not. Presidents will die if one ever tries to advocate and implement such.

    Read about the fairtax.

All the info. It's not such a crazy idea.

We've been under the big hand of the IRS for so long, we've been programmed to believe in it and just let them turn innocent people into criminals.

There is no need for us to continually subject ourselves to this sort of punishment.

Filling out long, drawn out complicated forms every year.... OVERPAYING taxes. The Fair Tax is the most intelligent thing I have seen to stop the millions of dollars wasted every year to fund the same government agency that forces us to pay unfair taxes.

The IRS needs to go away.

Taxing what we buy instead of what we make is the way to go. It will give a huge boost to our economy, while saving millions of dollars by NOT having to pay the IRS to victimize us.

The tax system is BROKEN. Has been for years now. It needs a major overhaul. I don't know about anyone else... but taking home my ENTIRE PAYCHECK and having COMPLETE CONTROL over paying my own taxes by being taxed on only what I buy sounds much better than what we are doing right now.

I agree 100% just give this audio by G. ED GRIFFEN a listen and you will begin to understand things we were never intended to.
It's a real eye opener to say the least.

you may need to download realplayer to get it to work. It's worth the trouble you may have to go through to get it to play.

This is the most fastinating piece of history I have ever heard

I would love to hear some opinions

What do you think that this country is built on???

    TAXES!!

There is no way that the IRS will be abolished...with that the country will cease to exist in its current place.

All of the current government programs...police, local, state and federal gov., FBI, CIA, municipalities, public schools...I can go on all night...are funded by our tax money.

Kill the taxes and kill our country. (I don't like paying them anymore than you but it is a VERY neccessary evil)
This country was NOT built on TAXES. This is exactly what I am talking about. Man the IRS really has you dialed, don't they?

In FACT, this country was built because we were OPPOSED to taxes...What do you think The Boston Tea Party was about? It was about saying "We don't need your taxes and we don't need a king." Which is pretty much where I stand on the subject of having a monarch in charge of our country.

The IRS wasn't formed until 1953 and we have been suffering ever since.

If our forefathers were alive today they would be pretty pissed off right now.

Don't get me wrong, taxes are an unfortunate necessity, but NOT the way we have been doing it since 1953. This country was built way more on consumption, rather than being taxed by the IRS (because hello it wasn't even born until nearly 200 years after the rev war). We have been through the rev war, the civ war, wwI and wwII.... all VERY NECESSARY WARS and what got us through those wars? Taxes? Hell no. The IRS wasn't even born yet.

Sorry but the 50's did NOT build our country. It did give birth to the Cold War though. That was fun.

    Good points,

I agree, and besides the above, taxes are a joke when it starts to cost more to collect than they are collecting. (g) Sounds like the system is broke, never mind totally unfair.

    Good luck to all, Mike

Default IRS will never be completely gone!

As an IRS employee for more than 15 years nows, I can assure you that we will never be disbanded. We do alot more than just collect taxes. I happen to work in the department where we audit Non-Profit or Tax Exempt organizations and make sure that they are doing what they are suppose to with YOUR donations. We make sure the money is actually going to the homeless or cancer patients or wherever else it is suppose to go and not into someones pocket or personal bank account. We also audit companies pension plans. We make sure that all the money you put in to a plan during your years working for someone is there when you retire. I for one hope that there will always be someone there looking at these issues. As for the flat tax for personal income, I don't know, it might work. But I wonder how you would track company to company purchases (like Ford buying parts from one of its suppliers). It is not like this is a Wal-mart or something. Someone will still have to make sure that the correct amount of tax is being paid on purchases, and that someone will always be the IRS in my opinion.

If you think that I meant that our country was originally built on taxes you are mistaken. The Tea Party was in protest. They chanted "No Taxation without Representation" throughout the period.

If you continued to read my post I stated that the current government sponsered programs are what the taxes support. Where do you think our police officers derive their pensions from?

The IRS has not brainwashed me...I am simply stating that there has become a reliance on the taxes in this country in order to sustain many of the programs that currently exist.

I will agree with you on the Cold War...we have a very nice bomb shelter in the backyard from the previous owner.
    I just need $1.47.

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country.

No matter what I pay in taxes, state or fed, I am the winner. I have lived in counteries without all the U.S.A. offers. Our land is as proclaimed by our National Anthum.

Sorry to chop up your post. City police officers are payed by the revenues of the city derived from city sales tax. Not that sure about their pensions but I would imagine that's handled by the city also.

Read about the fair tax. Revenues will increase. Look at sales in the US versus income and you'll find that the amount of money spent in the US far exceeds the money made.
