Dave, thanks for sharing with us how you became a God's tool. I bet it was not easy to type that story, as people may continue to judge the old Dave...and thank you for the good words towards me.

All that I can say is " Thank you" - Dave and the others ( Terry, Tammy) who have read and answered my post. Just felt like had to say something. Thank you.

    Thanks Bro Bill,

I’m a little slow, it took me a minute to figure out IHS means In His Service. lol.

Yeah, the Holy Ghost is the power from on high, it’s so important that Jesus told His disciples, don’t leave home without it.

    Acts 1:1-8
    1. The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
    2. Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
    3. To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
    4. And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5.For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6.When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
    7. And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
    8. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

I didn’t grow up in Church so I didn’t have any preconceived ideas about the Holy Ghost. I read Acts 2:37-39 and said WOW, if that stuff is real and if the Holy Ghost is still available to me I want that power from on high too! So I prayed in my bedroom and ask the Lord is it real and if it is then please fill me with it like He did those in the Bible.

He filled me just like He filled the ones on the day of Pentecost. Speaking in other tongues was weird, strange and wonderful! For I knew then that God is real, from that moment on nobody can tell me God’s not real.

    Acts 2:37-39
    37. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
    38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    39. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

It’s the best, most wonderful gift this side of Heaven.

If you are not for sure, follow Peter’s instructions. If you have repented and are baptized in Jesus name then get alone with God and ask Him for the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is like all gifts that we receive from the Lord, you must have faith and believe when you ask. Forget about what some man may have taught you, read the book of Acts, pray and believe. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER! AMEN!

    Your servant in Christ,
    Dave

I've been in Texas for 30 years but I was raised in Tennessee. A friend sent me this Hillbilly interpretation of the Ten Commandments in an email, now I'm a little home sick. lol.

    God bless,
    Dave

    Tennessee Ten Commandments

Some people in Tennessee have trouble with all those "shalls" and “shall nots" in the Ten commandments...

Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms. So, some folks in middle Tennessee got together and translated the "King James" into
" Jackson County " language,....no joke, read on...

The Hillbilly's Tennessee Ten Commandments (posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainesboro, TN. )

    (1) Just one God.
    (2) Honor yer Ma & Pa.
    (3) No tellin' tales or gossipin'.
    (4) Git yourself to Sunday meetin'
    (5) Put nothin' before God.
    (6) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal.
    (7) No killin’
    (8) Watch yer mouth.
    (9) Don't take what ain't yers.
    (10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff.

Now that's kinda plain an' simple, don't ya think?
In the old covenant God did his part, but man failed to do his part… Couldn’t do it.
In the new covenant God did his part, then robed Himself in flesh and did man’s part too.

    Well Doc,

I hope you are right on "when you least expect it..." as that is today with 6 Cabinet Ministers to resign tomorrow, the Parliment closing for 10 days to advoid a non-confidence vote on the PM and a call to new elections with a very real chance that Moqtada al-Sadr could become the next PM....this would be a great time to have God's hand in play.
It seems that all three times this was to be done it was Al-Sadr that has prevented it...the evil of Satan abounds in Iraq...or so it would now seem.

Pray for this not to come to pass!

    Hey Fred,

Well, I’ll keep believing until the check hits my bank or they contact me about it, hopefully tomorrow will bring a reval.

If it doesn’t reval in time to cover my check it won’t be because satan slipped one in on the Lord at the last minute, the Lord knows all things concerning mankind since before time.

It will be because I misinterpreted the meaning of what the Lord showed me.

    God bless,
    Dave

Loved the laugh with that version of the 10 commandments!! Thanks for sharing!! sometimes we need a big laugh!
Habakkuk 2:2-3 Then the LORD answered me and said: “ Write the vision And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Doc, I mentioned this on another forum. I mean it to be light-hearted and fun, not super-spiritual, but here-goes.

    The rapture is an imm

about to happen, looming, coming up, forthcoming, pending, impending, in the offing, in the cards, on the agenda, on the horizon, in the stars, in the pipeline, at hand, on the cards (UK, informal), just around the corner antonym: distant

event and the Word says no one knows the day nor the hour, not even the Lord, but only the Father, of when this will occur. (The return of Jesus to get His Bride) I look at this RV the same way. WE don't know!! I think it will just surprise all of us! When we try to put a day on it and it doesn't happen, we just get disappointed..I totally believe that this RV will just spring up on us, without much warning...Keep the faith!
