I tend to go everyday without makeup, while I love putting it on and I love the artistry that goes into it, it’s too much of a hassle for me to take off! When I do wear makeup I always go for a more retro 40s-50s vibe, so red lips, cat eye winged liner, it’s quite obvious when I wear it.

I used to wear makeup on a daily basis for about 2–3 years, I would go for more of a natural look though.

I’ve mostly gotten positive opinions from other people when I stopped wearing makeup. Compliments often embarrass me, especially if their heartfelt! They’re very kind though.

Depending on how my sleep schedule’s been going, my face can reflect it and I’ll get the “You look tired.” comment. I once got this comment last year everyday for about a month or two—it got very tiring, but it was a hard year.

A very kind man once walked up to me and said, “I just wanted to tell you that you are beautiful! Wow, wait, are you wearing makeup? Oh, you’re not even wearing makeup and you look this beautiful!”

My blunt and often impersonal friend Thomas found out I stopped wearing makeup, squinted at my face, then said, “You don’t need it.” which was one of the kindest things he’s said, and it was sincere, believe me, he would’ve told me otherwise.

My current boyfriend often forgets that I don’t wear makeup, and I haven’t worn it around him.

I honestly see myself as okay-looking, I am content with the way I look, I like my look. I see myself as maybe slightly above average.
