I feel very selfish reading everybody elses' posts! Because it might seem that I think ONLY about me and my dear ones...
But "me and the mine" will be first priority; get our lives in order.
However, after that I , too, will of course help others in some way.
What I have wanted to do for a long time is join a system here that is called to be "fadder" for someone. I looked up the word "fadder" and it's translated as "god- mother/ father" or, less formal,"sponsor". But it doesn't feel like that is EXACTLY right, but whatever....
Anyway, in Sweden (I don't know if youu have it in the US, UK etc?) we can enroll as "god mother" for a child somewhere in the world. Then you pay approx. 30$/ month FOR THAT CHILD. You get his/ her picture, and you can write him/her and he/ she can write to you. The money pays for everything that child needs; food, clothes, education. Some of them live at home with their parents, but I suppose some of them live in orphaneges/ shelters.
I like this system very much, because you KNOW the money goes to the right things. (Yes, I give to SOS villages and stuff also, but this is more personal...) My parents have been the god parents of a little Phillippine girl for years now (so she isn't so little anymore! ) and it's nice to hear how she studies etc. You can also send him/ her birthday presents etc. if you want to.
I have many times thought that we should have a "fadder" child ourselves (me and my kids) but haven't dared to commit, because sometimes I don't HAVE the 30 dollars...and if you commit, you have to stick it out. I don't know how long, but I suppose until they are grown up.
But when the dinar revalues, I will DEFENITIVELY get a couple! Or more!

Thats a very "humanitarian" hope offered to the many parentless children out there...resulted from all kinds of scenarios...all good, bad & ugly and the latest are usually from war-torn situations...
I think your best match to fadder would be best described as "foster", parenting from a distance or right up to having a trial period with one or more kids betwee 1-yr olds to 15-yr olds.
But I have seen and known far too many...up close and good to know...with this rapid evolvement with uncertainty in financial and socio-domestic upheavals where children again come into abundance... and skyrocketing fees with school textbooks and education and little hope but higher & bleaker future... its like ... an adult touching 30 years...not knowing how to enjoy life for oneself, is throwing his/her outlook into more misery...just out of emotional feelings...that are usually temporary only... I noticed, it is as good as 85 to 95% are failures with horrendous disappointment and greater difficulties with finance after 3 -6 years...of slogging just to make ends meet...
By that time, its very late to pull out and a young vibrant woman with all to live for with a partner...gets to look and worked out (aka washed OUT) looking as a 65 year old feeble couple when they are in their prime years who should live a full life of their own instead....
What Hollywood film stars can do...they can do because they have NOTHING else better to look into during the movie takes...sometimes lasting as long as a coupla years on no movies made ....but they have their money made to see it through... if you have always a problem of spare cash...don't even dream of getting into this ...!!
But... it's a choice you make...and I wish you all the best on that task KarinC...

When the dinars r/v, I will give much to my Church; I will put my 16yr old cat in the Pet Hotel to be treated. He is completely blind and if treated, he could regain some of his sight. The Dr. has said it will cost much money for his treatments. This cat is my heart. Of course, my son is first. I would share with some family members who chose not to believe in the dinars. I have friends also I will share with; they, too, did not believe in the dinars. I will still share even though they did not believe in the dinars. Will share where I see a need and, of course, be good to myself also.

Neno: Thank you so much for your kind words. I am in some pretty heavy investments now through the company my son is with and I will invest even more when the dinars r/v. I believe in a diversified portfolio. Thank you so much for your concern; I like that.
