Default Purchasing Dinar from Chase Bank

To those who have purchased dinar from Chase banks - What exactly is the process? Do I go up to the regular ol' tellers to place my order, or do I need to speak to someone who specifically handles foreign currency?

I sold my electric guitar and my bass guitar for some extra dough yesterday, and want to go ahead and place an order today for Dinar through Chase, but not sure who I need to talk to.

Thanks in advance for all who answer...
Four years ago... no, it was yesterday. Today I... No, that wasn't me. Sometimes I... No, I don't.

Based on my experience.... Just walk up to the next available teller. Tell them you'd like to "buy" foreign currency. They will look it up in their system and ask what country. Tell them you want Iraqi Dinar. They will ask how much. If you tell them you want $100 worth, it will confuse them. You need to tell them how much NID you want.(ie, 10K, 100K, 500K, 1M). They will enter the order and you pay them including a $5 fee. They'll give you the receipt and you can pick it up the next day. Have a nice day.

Do they charge you the $5 fee even if you have an account with them? I thought I read somewhere that if you hold an account with them, there is no fee. I guess it doesn't really matter either way. $5 isn't all that much in the grand scheme of things, I suppose.

I believe they waive the $5 fee if you have an account. I do not have one so I had to pay. They will ask you if you have an account. Good Luck Web.

Thank you very much, Vipor. I appreciate your assistance in indoctrinating this newbie to purchasing dinar through a bank. It sure will be a nice surprise to see an order of dinar arrive the next day.

Yeah, I'm on that "other" site as well (not nearly as informative as this one, though)... And yes, I'm in Ohio. I'm in the Dayton area (round about there - Just south of it, really). I'll let you know how it goes... Should be leaving here in about 15 minutes or so to try and place that order...

    Default purchase

Hey Webb, have done it twice. I only have a Chase C/C and that qualifies as an acct. No Fee. With the C/C I had to take a cash advance, but I didn't mind, figure I'd be able to pay it off soon enough Took about a day or so to get the order in.

    Default Longview, Texas Chase

I called our Chase in Longview, Texas (60 miles away but hey we live in know were land) But anyway, Talked to a teller, she said "know we don't do that" - I ask for Teller Manager - Explain what I wanted and she had to look it up because they had NEVER done any time of "currancy purchase". She found the intructions, printed them off for all teller stations and said we could come into the bank to purchase.

We get to the bank - teller says "nope" - we say were Jennifer (teller manager)

So much for training or explain in small towns

But we were able to puchase more, picked up next day.

Moral of story, go up the food chain at the bank until you get it ordered.

    Cheers
