i dont remember what it was. if it was the deal about the 15th i must go along with adster since weve both read about every document out of iraq and its not in them. i think he is getting his facts confused. its been shown on here it was actually december 31st that they expired on any obligation to hold the currency at its current rate when they began the sba. theyve been able to change the currency rate since the first day of this year but was advised by imf to complete certain criteria before that time came. theyve completed except for announcing.

i said it has to be it. has nothing to do with what scuba dude said. that is total false information. the currency only had to remain at the program rate until dec. 31, 05 when the sba took over. my solution is for more dinar lessons and less underwater adventure...

the reason i have adjusted is because they gotta have the value changed by monday morning their time when they start handing out those cheques. in order to get that accomplished they will have had to AT LEAST made the opening of the forex 17:00est. hence the deduction that it WILL BE REVALUED BY 17:00EST. sunday

You're right of course, that would be the logical step. However, and I mean a big however the Iraqi government has shown us on many occasions that they are anything but logical.

I have my fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath just in case they let their people down once again.

Where did it say that they had to start to pay their checks by monday? I am not doubting it, but can't find the doc's that say it. can someone fill me in thanks.

but you see this is a misnomer created by the mind of the impatient one. good god man they are starting from the ground up building an entire infrastructure politically, ecomically, etc. there was even a document a couple days ago i posted about how the imf thinks that iraq has done exceptionally well in the advancement toward article VIII status. even moreso than most countries they said. and we are all well aware of the fact without that status we have no convertible currency.

they have taken 1/4 of the time to build iraq as the usa took to make america. i think the ones who are still in govt. there have done an outstanding job considering what theyve had to contend with.

nobody said HAD TO. i said they were going to. cards begin getting distributed monday morning, cheques are to accompany cards. tuesday those who received raises are to pick those cheques up at the bank.

So correct me if I am wrong here.

So monday morning they are starting to distribute the cards. Those who has received such a card can go to the bank to pick up a cheque. With this cheque they can get cash to buy food.

If this is the case wouldn't it be perfect to reval on sunday the 15th and as soon as everybody is cashing to distribute the small denominations.

That way they are distributing the small notes all over the country and force the people to use it!

Just a thought.
