Once you have consulted with a Tax Lawyer & a good Accountant [Not H & R Block], don't be afraid to shop around to a number of banks . . .

Some think a standard fee would be 1% / that's $10K per Million / / / that's a hell-of-a-lot for almost no work . . . the more you are cashing in the better rate you may be able to negotiate . . .

What city and state have you been talking to chase in? I have been dealing with chase in phoenix and they have not said anything about limits at all.

Yes I have read quite a bit about that and the concensus seems to be

1. find out if they charge a fee and how much.

2. Shop the rate, not all are equal

Then figure out which is the best for your pocket book!

I use to be in the Gaming business in Nv. I use to be a "Internal Auditor for Gaming". I had to insure that the club followed all the Gaming laws. One of the things that I had to keep abreast of was all the money laundering laws. The $10,000 is just one of them. There are smaller levels for coin and lesser denominations.

I tend to follow the news about this when I see it.

I remember reading in the last year that Homeland Security has now assigned certain officers in each bank to watch for "unusal transactions" and these can be as small as $2,500, or any amount if the officer feels it is suspecious.

I just opened my account with chase a few weeks ago, but I do plan when the reval happens to open one with both Wells Fargo and B of A also.

I ain’t got time at the moment to visit much, but when I do get time to check in, I’d leurve to see something to let me know that I can finally draft my letter of resignation (can I get a wOot, wOot, ummm - can't remember who sung that coz i've got "Sultans of Swing" in my head ... don't ask!!), max out my already stressed credit cards (poor little babies are buckling under the financial pressure but do I care – HELL NO) and book one BIG holiday for me, my family and friends - somewhere hot and lively.

Tiff I hear you. My younger sister who is amazing, love her to the max, went back to study as a mature student to get the degree she's always wanted ... and only the Lord knows how she does it! She works with kids (home liaison officer & runs a youth club) a car, a mortgage and has to live. So I took her credit card and we ordered some dinar last month. I also bought some extra for her with my poor stressed out babies, just to ease her mind. Looking after my Mum and immediate family (here and back home in the Caribbean) is my No 1 priority. Always has been and always will be. And that’s just the beginning.

Some of my best friends are really hurting at the moment, charities need cash and last but by no means least – I need some serious life time pampering, need to set up my own business which I haven’t had time to get sorted *boooo* and I really need to actually buy a house so that I can also pamper my family and friends 24/7.
