Ah, you crazy Americans... next thing you'll be asking how to pronouce "Vase" or "Aluminium". Or "Iraq" for that matter (not "eye-rack" as the guy in ER keeps calling it)

Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

I just want to be educated so that when I phone the banks to set up an appointment to exchange a portion I sound sophisticated.

I am pretty certain that it isn't pronounced...

Din-AR -- Hey! Wanna come over for dinner?

Fire away...I feel some jokes coming on...but I would like the actual answer at some point!

Well according to an exchange website where they have a woman actually speaking about Dinars and other matter of the website. Long E for the I accent then Nar like your Are you coming to diner.
    dEEnar.

Funny how people worry about such. I am sure if you take it to the bank they will called it whatever and it will still be the same.
