The former director general of oil exploration company exclusive Salem Gabriel, in an interview with the Independent News Agency (Voices of Iraq), that Iraq "has a reserve in the world's first global gathering of reserve installer (115) billion barrels with probable reserves estimated at between (214 to 250) billion barrels, "pointing out that it could" increase its production to hit (6) million barrels or more without much trouble "

The oil expert, exclusive, "the first flaw in dealing with the deterioration of the oil wealth is that the bodies responsible at the time have been active in conducting inquiries and a large seismic surveys to identify sites contain vast depths preliminary indications of wealth in oil Watt, hesitated to update the most important and guarantee the presence of oil , And conversion of possible sites to the availability of proven oil reserves. "

He said the seminar is "exploratory drilling operations, making these sites, which amounted to more than 540 locations, just possible sites, although all indicators show that the risk of being sites of proven reserves amount to 72 percent, which is drilling exploratory step basis to identify field Reserve first and then the possibilities of production through drilling Assessment. "

The move to read the exclusive objective of the oil field in Iraq, where the immense field of painstaking exploration of the sites indexed prospective oil fields, saying: "We have had exploratory teams surveyed more than 220 thousand kilometers / length of seismic lines, but those formidable tasks, unfortunately, not matched by seismic survey. "

He pointed out that "it is transferred to Iraq as I said earlier, which occupies the site where the fore production and reserves, but the efforts we call them here should be strengthened programmes exceed all formal and traditional patterns because if we are to build our country as we wish right, it must be mobilized all efforts and potentials The investment has promoted a national investment endorsed as meets the legitimate national aspirations. "

The moves exclusive to compare the cost of Iraqi oil investments compared with what is of similar investments in the world, saying that "we should remember that safely barrels of Iraqi oil not only cost a few dollars if the case of representation in both Saudi Arabia and Iran, where the cost of the lengths in the world, While the increase in the production difficulties of the United States and Canada for example, costing up to tenfold. "

He pointed out that "extraction operations are shifted to the stages of a complex view of the depletion of the quantities available through the extraction routine to reach the production stage costly and complex, which is extracted through what is known as (oil sands) or oil (s), which holds the international powers to anticipate the future and ensure supplies At any price. Iraq to place limits on no-bid oil contracts
Concern over deals with Western companies led to decision

The Iraqi government will limit no-bid contracts being negotiated with several major oil companies to one year to avoid overlap with longer-term deals expected to be signed next June, a senior Oil Ministry official said Thursday.

The contracts sparked a backlash because they involve major Western oil companies.

There are concerns that granting such contracts to Western companies could feed perceptions that U.S.-led forces toppled Saddam Hussein to seize the world's third-largest oil reserves.

Iraqi officials have stressed that the contracts are only for technical advice and equipment and the companies will receive money in return, not a share of oil production. They say the deals are a stopgap measure to boost oil production until open bidding ends next June on the development of six major oil fields and two natural gas fields.

Some believe the no-bid deals could give Western companies an advantage in the larger bidding process, which Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani said last month would include 35 foreign companies. The companies he named included seven from the U.S. and three from Britain.

Five of the oil fields up for longer-term development — Rumaila, Zubair, West Qurna 1, Maysan and Kirkuk — are also included in the no-bid contracts under negotiation, a senior oil official said. So, the Iraqi government decided to limit those deals to one year, he said.

"We want to avoid any overlap in this process," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media about the issue.

    Hey Seaview

I was reading a little ways back about the article you posted on Nexen. I know they are excited about getting the chance to get in to Iraq and get established there. I work with a few of their personnel, as I helped bring on their largest field in the G.O.M. It would be good for the company to get in there.

Anyway, I posted this article elsewhere, and thought I would post it here... feel free to move or remove as you see fit... which goes without saying but I said it all the same.. LOL

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

A friend found this on an election website... I thought it might be appropriate here...

In two months the Iraqi Dinar will go international???
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't make it a habit to post in the speculation section, but I found a curious comment on another forum (not a dinar forum) that I found interesting. The poster was listing all the good things that have taken place since the surge. He listed fact after fact then made the dinar comment like it was fact also. I thought I would post it to get thoughts on it. Again bear in mind this did not come from a dinar site, his post was more for congratulating Bush for the surge success, on an election forum. He is so informed about Iraqi news it does make me wonder if he is a dinar holder though.

Since the surge has taken place all sorts of good things have happened in Iraq .. The United Arab Emirates have forgiven 7 ½ billion dollars of Iraqi debt. This is a huge development. Not only do the seven sovereign countries of the UAE acknowledge Iraq as a country on the way of healing but forgiving this debt is like giving the country a loan. The Iraqi government is up and running more efficient than the Democrats running our Congress. On top of moving to transfer the oil wealth to its citizens in a program that rivals how the State of Alaska distributes its wealth, it has proposed to use its oil wealth to send 10,000 high school students to study abroad. This is how the tiny country of Great Britain controlled the whole world at one time. Candidates will be selected by their grades not by sect. This is huge as it points to a situation that will be ruled by progress instead of family position.
Last week the Iraqi Prime Minister proclaimed that terrorism has been defeated. The number of foreign fighters killed of captured have dwindled down from 120 per month to just 20. The Iraqi citizenry, feeling comfortable with their army, is leading their soldiers to the bad guys. The Bagdad Airport has purchased four new Boeing 747 jets to revive a cornerstone of their economy that was the jewel of the Arab world. The last of the 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium purchased from Africa to form the crust of the nuclear program under Saddam has been transferred to the Savannah River plant for safekeeping. From there the uranium will be sold to Canada to make electricity…Three U.S. brigades have been released because of the reduced violence. 15 of the 18 Benchmarks have been met. The Iraqi government has put in an order of 1.8 billion dollars of weapons from factories in the United States . The Iraqi government has issued no bid contracts to Exxon, Chevron, BP and Shell to upgrade their oil fields with a target to raise their production from 2.5 mil bbl to 4.5 mil bbl. Because of the high price of oil the Iraqi government has put in huge orders of durable goods from American companies and has promised to help us by not only increasing the oil on the international markets, but to dispatch direct shipments to us, bringing down the price. In two months the Iraqi Dinar will go international competing with the Euro, Yen, and other currency, credit cards and personal checks are to be issued as electronic money transfers take hold. The Iraqi stock market up since last year is offering it stock to its citizens and personal investments have increased…..
