I wonder if anyone read this IMF report, which shows a projected rate of 1290 for 2007.

    This is for everyone here.......

I was made aware of the Iraqi Dinar almost 2 years ago by a neighbor who invested along with the owners of the company he works for. He cautioned me that the Dinar will increase in value, and it may take 3 to 10 years to reach the 3 Dinar to the dollar levels.....

His words have held true. He also turned me on to IIF. I joined there and followed SGS's optimism over here. If anyone deserves credit for the thoughts of an overnight revaluation, I vote for her. It was Susie who first said "1.93 Euro....done deal!"

That sparked the ensuing rumors of different rates and different dates. I stated before that if the information WAS available that a date or a rate were imminent, surely this information (a matter of national security) would hardly be given to a woman from Alaska, a guy from Australia, or a person in Greenland....It would be a closely guarded secret and even the most trusted individuals would be in the dark.

All we have in this world to base the future on is the past.

Since the introduction of the new Iraqi Dinar, it has slowly increased in value, and this is good for us! If I remember correctly, the highest single day JUMP was about 16 Dinar (going by memory here..)

I'll always remember my neighbor's advice and think of this as a LONG TERM investment. For him a long term investment is anywhere from 3 to 10 years.

Perfect for me as my girls will be ready for college and I'll be ready to retire.

Until then I live my life as I always have, and keep an eye on the Dinar.

    Thank you.

You come across as funny as Bernard Manning did in Mumbai recently and that definitely is an understatement.

I have a question for you. You say you know someone that benefited from the Kuwaiti RV. Did that take place for him as a slow grow or a quick RV? For some strange reason the slow growers try to use Kuwait as an example and you could settle this argument once and for all since you have intimate knowledge of this event.

breakeven I appreciate your attempt to try and create a two way dialog on this thread, even though it was sarcastically started by someone else.
I too believe there are two sides to this investment. Like most I am hoping for a quick RV, but it does seem to good to be true.
I think what raises peoples blood pressure when they here slow grow is that their currant financial situation requires an overnight RV thus making them lash out at anyone who even mentions slow grow.
I would love to see this thread go off track of it's intended reason that it was posted and turn into some good dialog, without sarcasm, that could shed some light on the slow grow theory. I have yet to find one economist that supports an overnight RV.
