4 months still no word...
Iraq adopted a new investment law back in October 2006 (FIL) 4 months ago.
Has article 36 of the FIL been enacted yet?
Have not heard anything about this in a while...
Article 36
This law shall enter into force from the date of its publication on the Official Gazette.

No Reval...??
Unless I'm reading this wrong, it appears that IRAQ budget was approved today for 42 Million (Dinar) = approx 32 Million Dollars.

U.S., Iraqi forces detain deputy minister in raid
Arrest comes amid crackdown on al-Sadr's militia; violence claims 43 lives
Updated: 11:35 a.m. ET Feb 8, 2007
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqi forces Thursday detained a senior Health Ministry official accused of corruption and helping to funnel millions of dollars to Shiite militiamen blamed for much of the recent sectarian violence in the capital, the U.S. military said.
The raid was the latest in a crackdown on radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr's militia, coming a day after the chief U.S. military spokesman said a security sweep to stop the rampant attacks in the capital was under way.
In Washington, a military official said it was the highest-level arrest so far and provided an example of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's assertion that nobody and no place will be exempt from the crackdown.
Maj. Gen. Abdullah Khamis, the Iraq army commander for eastern Baghdad, said the arrest of the Health Ministry official was not part of the security operation, which he said would be different from two previous attempts that failed to pacify the capital.
"The elements of the new plan will be completely different in all aspects from the previous plans," he said. "It will be comprehensive. ... It will enjoy political support."
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that the new U.S. military commander for Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus, has arrived in Baghdad, a military official said. Petraeus will take over command from Gen. George Casey at a ceremony on Saturday.

al-Qaida in Iraq Aide Said Detained
Iraqi security forces say aide to al-Qaida in Iraq leader detained south of Baghdad
BAGHDAD, Iraq, Feb. 8, 2007
(AP) Iraqi security forces detained an aide to the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq in a raid early Thursday at a gas station south of Baghdad, state-run television and a security official said.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, said the aide to Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, also known as Abu Ayyub al-Masri, was one of two men arrested in the dawn raid.
The two suspects ran a gas station in Mahmoudiya, about 20 miles south of Baghdad, on behalf of al-Qaida in Iraq, the official said, adding the returns from selling gas and other oil products on the black market were being used to finance the operations of local al-Qaida in Iraq cells.
The official, who was involved in the raid, did not identify the two men, but added that the al-Masri aide had confessed to meeting the terror network leader the previous day in the Mahmoudiya area, but that he could not tell investigators of his current whereabouts because he was constantly on the move.
Mahmoudiya is a stronghold of the Sunni-led insurgency. While the town is dominated by Shiites, the farmlands around it are thought to harbor cells of al-Qaida in Iraq blamed for suicide bombings in the area and attacks against Iraqi and U.S. security forces.
There have been frequent reports by the U.S. military and Iraqi authorities on the arrest of aides of al-Masri since he took over the terror network following the June 7 killing of his predecessor, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Lets not get depressed folks. Everything statistically enforces the fact that an accurate revalue of the Dinar is the ONLY logical thing coming out of iraq these days. Smoking Mirrors and horribly translated news post isn't enough to make jump off the DINAR TRAIN!
