Two things.

while camel spiders are indeed large that picture was taken up close (they dont get that big)

and

camel spiders are technally (sp) a type of scorpion

Well, I lived in South Texas for only about 3 months. I swear that when I went outside to shake out a rug, a wolf spider chased me around our patio. Freaked me right out! The last straw was when I called animal control to come remove what I thought was a bat in my house. They thought it was just hysterical that I called to remove what was actually a moth. That was it for me! I moved back to Michigan the following week. I know they say that "Everything is bigger in Texas", but the whole bug thing was just a little too much for me.

I spent a couple of nights camping in the jungle in Malaysia, 4x4ing... I swear that some of the moths were about the size of my hand - and of course they were VERY interested in our flourescent light!
