Why then are you(and you know who they are) cutting down Mrs. CK, SGS, NENO, Marek, etc? I was so excited after the post I called my wife on the cell and had her listen to the WOOT!!! I guess I just want to say THANK YOU to Mrs. CK, Gloribee, Neno, Marek, SGS, Wm Knowles, Socata and all the other researchers of the news because without you we would definitely be in the dark. Very well put and agree with you 110%.

    or .77 USD = 1 dinar

    THis is the correct math!

As for moving the decimal point to make it 1 USD = 1.29 IQD, it just doesn't work that way... I think this is a pointless debate anyway as I believe the IQD will open at at least 1.5 Euros... SOON!!!

With the assumption that some would dump their dinar for the quick profit before they make the next jump. All the while continuing to rake in the dinar to stop its circulation until they get the RV up to 1 to 1. Granted, some would sell off portions and they buy even more dinar, but the profit margin would not be so high on that.

    Interesting,

but I believe it will cause more problems rather than solve them. If they incremented the rate, they are then announcing and allowing an ocean of speculators to enter in for the ride upward. Right now the speculator pool is as small as it will ever be. It makes more sense to raise the rate to over a buck; You'll still get investors but the cost itself will be so prohibitive it will prevent the bulk of investors that maybe could afford to get in at a lower rate from entering at all. Well that's my take for what its worth.
It seems that the state insists, or preserve the value of the Iraqi dinar 148 against the dollar ...Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states [ MOF Sept 2006]

Several killed as bomb strikes minibus in central Baghdad
(2/01/07 - BAGHDAD, Iraq) - At least nine people were killed in Baghdad Thursday as a bomb tore through a minibus in a predominantly Shiite commercial district and mortars hit a Sunni area, officials said.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bombing of the minibus killed at least six and wounded eight, police said. It struck at noon in the district of Karradah, which has been hit by several bombings in recent weeks as insurgents try to maximize the number of people killed before a planned U.S.-security crackdown.

A suicide car bombing devastated the area less than a week ago, killing some 30 people.

Mortar rounds slammed into a Sunni neighborhood in Baghdad for the third day in a row, killing at least three people and wounding 10, hospital officials said.

Five mortar rounds struck the streets of the northern area of Azamiyah on Thursday morning, according to officials who gave the casualty toll.

The Sunni area has been hit daily by mortar attacks since Tuesday, when at least five people were killed and 20 wounded in apparent retaliation for insurgent bombings against predominantly Shiite areas coinciding with the Shiite holy day of Ashoura.

Four people were killed in an afternoon mortar attack Wednesday in Azamiyah.

Elsewhere, the U.S. military said that a soldier died Thursday of wounds sustained in fighting in Anbar province.

The soldier assigned to Multi National Force -- West was killed after being wounded in fighting on Tuesday in the Sunni insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.

The soldier was not identified pending notification of relatives.

    Gooooooooooooood Morning RolClub

Well finally we get some movement in the rate of the dinar to the dollar. We are now 30 points away from the "1260" benchmark. If the rate is consistant with what we saw in Jan, we'll be at 1260 near the end of Feb. Personnaly I hope it doesn't take that long, but I've given up trying to figure out what the CBI is doing. A friend called me today and said the HCL has been agreed upon. I haven't read about it yet so I hope it is true. Maybe then we can get some insight into what they really plan on doing. With that, here are the numbers for today, 2/1/07

"The More They Take, The More We Make".

    1. A 2 point change in the dinar today. Was 1292, now 1290

    2. A (net) worth of dinars, IQD - 111,572,100,000 pulled out of circulation today, 2/1/07

    3. 16 banks participating today

    4. 73rd auction since the beginning of CBI's reval plan

    5. 124 days into the CBI's reval plan.

    6. 4,477,154,180,000 dinars pulled from circulation !!

    7. 0 Dinars back into circulation today !!

    8. 187 dinar change since Oct 1st (baseline was 1477) 12.660% increase in value of the dinar since beginning of reval plan (Approximatly Oct 1st).

    9. 2 point reduction in the rate so far this week. Was at 1292 at the end of last week, 1290 this week.

    10. 2 point drop so far in the month of Feb. Ended at 1292 in Jan, now stands at 1290. In January we saw a 2.49% drop in the rate.

Why would they have different numbers? Doesn't make sense. But, not much has either.
