No, 524K is still 524K in any denomination combination. Some dealers are charging bs overhead fees to stock lower denoms. If you go to chase bank and specifically ask for lower denoms, they will attempt to get lower denoms, but there is no guarantee. I personally would go to chase or other bank that sells dinars because regardless of ebay feedback, any ebay dealer or dinar dealer could go poof into the night. It would be more difficult for a bank to go poof.

why would someone pay that much for 8 million, when they can buy from dealers for as low as $730 per million, 1 million at a time?

keep it simple
Do the best thing for yourself and bring them to a Chase Bank if yu have any around. You may need to open and account or use a friends account. Commerce charges a fee for exchanging even if you dont have and account $17 per transaction if I remember correctly.
Better Yet!
Have some faith, learn a little patience, and keep them. I hope you make the right choice and live to be happy with your decision.
Best to you always.
