If you think that the dinar will reval before Dec-15 you can buy an option to buy 1 mil in 25K notes for $28.45. That means that you can buy the million at a price of $949.95 anytime before Dec-15 even if there has been a reval. If the value of a million at that time is less than $949.95, you lose your $28.45. He also sells similar options for March 15, 2007 at $96.74.

Adster has said that Bruce is an honest man so I really think he will, if it revals at 1:1, send you money worth a million bucks for less than a thousand.

I do not encourage anybody to do this as it clearly is gambling at high risk, but I'd like to point out the possibility.

Hello all. I think I may have been misunderstood on a very important point of our discussion. The idea I presented, was to begin considering a reevaluation as a process over a period of time and not as a discrete and singular event. The .05 level presented was simply a model and a place to begin a debate on the idea that economic behavior is different at different price levels. I appreciate and understand the fact that the CBI could RV at a very high level if that is what they have planned. But, with that being said, the .05 level was just a point of discussion, NOT a prediction. I picked this level simply to begin a discussion on how much dinar do YOU think they could remove at this price level. (small bunch, big bunch?) Also, that they would continue to have the power to continue to raise the price level over a short period of time as they see fit. So, if I was misunderstood, I am sorry. Lets continue the good work in our posts and help others in understanding this very complicated process. Thank you.

How could you have been misunderstood? You had previously stated that the banks aren't full of nice people trying to boost our self-esteem by offering a high reval!

You said the banks aren't selling dinars - their buying and they only have to peg at a level that will draw in the "suckers"... as you so clearly put it!

Then you said they could raise their .05 peg in tiny increments to flush out dinar holders that really needed the money. They could re-peg the dinar at any time to continue to buy-up dinar at the lowest possible price!

It's no small task to try and bring back the enthusiasm we all felt with Suzie and Adster's high reval predictions - when you take your years of banking experience combine it with your new found adoration from forum members and use that as a spring-board to achieve your ultimate goal - BURST THE BUBBLE OF HIGH REVAL BELIEVERS (under the pretext of just sharing opinions)!

I'm not saying it's impossible - but it will take time to get the excitement back that we all felt before you cleverly nuked us with THE LOW REVAL BOMB!

I suppose your indirect appologies may help - but so far they seem less than believable!

Personally, I remain highly optimistic!

I'm not really commenting on the particular rumor you are referring to, but I just want to point out that in Muslim culture, the extended family could be far more far-flung than in a "Christian" culture. I don't even know if Iraq currently allows men to have more than one wife, (probably not) but in previous generations throughout the Middle East, that as not uncommon. As some of you may know, Osama BinLaden has (had) around 50 brothers and sisters. So in that situation, a person could indeed be a cousin of someone with whom they actually have no first hand knowledge.
