    Roxanne,

Have a read back through this thread, some useful info. Basically I trade live sports matches. For instance, I have just won money from laying the draw in the England game and then backing the draw once they scored which they did after 4 minutes. This guaranteed me a profit whatever the result. So I could sit with a beer and enjoy it!!!

Just watching Sweden v Trinidad. I'm again, laying the draw, (which means I don't think it will be a draw) and once Sweden score which they should do, I will then back the draw so whatever the outcome I will win. :0)

My idea of the above site, ie Keith Elliott is that he has some brilliant trades where you can make excellent money. Just want to see if others are interested as the subscriptions can be greatly reduced if there are a few of us. :0)

P.M me to get involved and make money asap.

    1. The Gunners didn't play on Saturday, whereas Juve played a really tough draining 1-1 draw with Roma on Saturday evening which they had to play with 10 men for half the game after Nedved's sending off.
    2. Juve will be without Nedved so will be weakened on the left side of MF - Del Piero is another non-starter.
    3. The CB's Cannavarro and Thuram may lack pace and could struggle against Arsenal's quick interpassing attacks led by Henry.
    4. Let's remember Juve were very lucky to get through the last round in the dying minutes after a 'howler' by the Werder Bremen keeper and the German side scored 3 at home to Juve.
    5. Arsenal at home have been in confident mood and the tight ground may not suit dangerman Juve winger Camoranesi.
    6. No away side has won in the last 16 Champions League QF and SFs."
Wed - Man Utd to bt West Ham W4/11
"United should win but it may be by a single goal."
Thu - Basle to bt Middlesbrough W11/8, Delgado FGS W9/1 (first FGS bet of the week)
"Basle to win @ 11/8 SJ, FGS Delgado (Basle) @ 9/1 PP, BetFred
    1. Basle are really strong at home - winning 5 of 6 Euro games this season and they're unbeaten there domestically in the last 3 years.
    2. They did not play at the weekend whereas Middlesbrough played on Sunday, and we saw at Highbury on Tuesday how another home side, Arsenal, took advantage of that in the last 50 minutes.
    3. Boro are without key players - CB Southgate and defensive shield Boateng who is a massive loss and star youngster Lee Cattermole is also out.
    4. Delgado is a dead ball specialist, takes the penalties, and has 6 Euro goals this season."
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

    Hi Adam

OK, I read through the whole thread and its a lot clearer now.

I think I understand how to do it and still can't believe the amount of money there is to be made.

I'm gonna try a few paper and test games and see how I get on.

Come on ladies - get involved, don't let the guys have all the fun LOL.

Thumbs up I'm going for it!!

    Hi Adam

I read this thread again just now and I think i'm gonna try a trade as the best way for me to learn anything is to jump in feet first and eyes open.

I signed up to Betfair yesterday and put a very small amount of cash in there.

There are three in play games today Australia vs Japan, USA v Czech Republic, and Italy v Ghana.

I'm gonna have a very small bet on the Australia vs Japan game - laying the draw and then backing the draw as soon as one team scores and i'll let you know how I get on.

Have just sent an email to you.

    ---
Right, I've layed the draw and the amount is a red minus figure - hummm, I don't think that was supposed to happen.

OK, Japan have just scored and I backed the draw but nothing happened and my amount for the draw is still a red minus figure.

I tried to logout as i've obviously not won anything, and there is a message saying I have "unmatched bets". This happened yeaterday when I tried with a £2 stake, I got a minus figure and the unmatched bet message and I didn't win a bean.

GRRRRR - What am I doing wrong - I thought I'd win something for my £12 stake (I thought I was betting £5 but it took more!! - this is just too funny Haa-Haaa)

Never mind - this time next year i'll be a miwionnaire LOL

    --

OK latest update, I just checked to see how much I lost and i won a few pence so at least i haven't lost!!

Still don't know what i'm doing though LOL!!

    Roxanne, top marks for perseverance!!

If you lay the draw you're thinking it WON'T be a draw, ie for instance, I layed the draw in the Holland v Serbia match. For example and to keep it easy I'll say the odds were, 3.5 for the lay draw. Once Holland scored I then backed the draw at odds of 6.5 giving a profit if Holland went on to win which they did.

Remember the odds on the back side have to be higher than the odds on the lay side to make a profit, ie you lay at 4.0, a goal is scored you then back it at whatver the odds go out too, 6.0,7.0 etc...

Also, be careful with unmatched bets and always cancel them with the button at the top or they may be taken later on and you could lose money.

    Thumbs up Cheers!!

    Hi Adam

I bet on all three games yesterday Australia vs Japan, USA v Czech Republic, and Italy v Ghana and came out about even.

Ahhhaaa, I knew I was doing something wrong - the odds on the back side were lower than those on the lay side on all of the games. I get laying and backing now, but I wasn't sure about the odds.

So what happens when the odds on the back side are lower than the odds on the lay side after a goal is scored? Its not worth backing the draw then is it coz you’re not gonna make any money.

And just to check, I should be backing “the draw” and not the country that has just scored right? And the liability is the amount Ican lose? So I can't bet on anything with a liability higher than in my account?

I like this – just gotta win a few sheckles now to prove I’m doing it right.

    Cheers

Ok, say the start of the game, to lay the draw, which basically is saying you don't think it will be a draw, ie you're opposing the draw, the odds are 4.0. As the game goes on without a gola, the odds will drop, from 4.0, to 3.95, to 3.90 etc...the longer the game goes on without a goal the lower the odds become on the lay side. Now once a goal comes, the odds then shoot up from anything up to 10.0! this is when you then BACK the draw and make a profit.

If you go into Betfair and pick a game, say Togo v S Korea on the match odds. Above the 'refresh' button there is one saying options. Click in it and make sure all of the boxes have ticks in, and the bottom lay box is red, (should be defaulted anyway).

Now go back into the match odds and play around with figures without putting a bet on, ie put down 30 pounds on the lay to draw which is currently odds of 3.4. You'll see in the boxes your profit of 28.58 if either side win because you're laying the draw and saying it won't be a draw.

Now imagine the game has started and after 10 minutes S. Korea have scored, hoorraaayyyy, just what you wanted! the draw price will have gone from what it was at the start of the match when it was 3.35 up to something like 6.5 once the market has settled down. So, go into the back draw and play around. Put in the odds for 6.0. Then, put in different amounts and you will see the figures in either red or green. You want to be GREENED UP ACROSS THE BOARD SO WHATEVER THE OUTCOME YOU WILL WIN MONEY.

I have put in 17 pounds at odds of 6.0 on the back side of the draw. Now we're all GREENED UP and have a profit of 12.38 whatever the outcome of the match.

At this point you can crack open a beer, smile and relax. :0)

    I've included screen shots below.

What can go wrong? Well if there is no goal after 65 minutes you should trade out for a small loss by REDDING UP across the board. This can happen of course, we don't win everytime!

This is just a bit of a lesson for beginners, hope it helps. I believe there will be golas in all 3 games today.

    Hi Adam

Thanks so much for the step by step account - THAT was just what I needed, someone to walk me through the process and be patient of my baby steps. I'm sure others will appreciate your explanation as well.

Two things - I couldn't open your files for some reason, can you put them in a Word page and can you also confirm that I have to be able to cover the liability amount with what’s in my account before I can bet??

Thanks again, now go and have a cold bear and relax

    Enjoy

Welcome Roxanne, hope it helps, it's just the basics really. I've put them in word, you can now open them.

Yes, you do have to have the funds to put the trades on. Just start off small or even paper trade for a while. Watch the game and have your betfair screen open at the same time and you'll see the odds move. There's no rush to get into this for beginner's, there's sport on all the time so don't worry. Better to get in slow than losing a load of $$$'s as you're not sure what to do.
