Thread: Child obesity

Typically parents are considered to be primarily responsible for that their child is at a healthy weight.
The parents are enormously affected by the medical care, the food industry, education and the media.
If the parents were not doing their job, who would be responsible in taking action?
If a child is overweight, how should a parent go about dealing with it in the correct manner?

Parents should educate themselves. It's not difficult these days to know what constitutes a good diet.

It seems to me that life skills training is much more relevant than all of the above. In the sense that your child will learn to read and write anyway. It is better, of course, if they learned this from you, but they can do it at school, conditionally. But no one better than you will tell them how to behave not to get lost in this life. I realized this after participating in the Foster Plus initiative when I had to spend a lot of time with a problem child. Although now I would not dare to call it that. Children really lack advice on how to do some basic things correctly, how other people like it, and how to find the courage to do some new endeavors. They need this "book".
