Well, for once, Smmrridge, I trade gold along with many other commodities and futures, and nobody knows of any $billions in gold having been bought and stashed in Australia.

Given the values we're talking about, it's not likely that those would go around unnoticed. We're talking north of 60 tons per $billion, where sales of 5-10-15 tons get reported all over.
