Whew! We never went on with it as my Dad got sick and, well, the whole idea kind of got lost and I gave it up. I'm very interested in following the individual route as you are doing and have been studying and am now about to start some paper experimentations to get into it. I'll be keen to follow your thread on this and look forward to developing some conservative trading as I go; but, like you, only if I can square away enough time to keep constant track or control of it. Anyway, great to see you here. Take care.

    Hi Thelema,

Congratulations on the Mod status and thanks for the kind words.
Seems we have a few things in common my friend!

When I started this thread, I swore to myself that I would publish failures as well as successes, show everything, 'warts an all'.

Please feel free to chip in whenever you like, between us we will crack this 'black box' called FOREX that some purposely shroud in mystery.

I'm taking a few days away from live trades whilst I tweak my trading system with a couple of new indicators I am attempting to understand, but will be back with full details when ready.

    Take it easy.

    Investor.

YB. cheers and keep going at it...
    Cheers YB.

If members learn something from this, then my work will be done.

FOREX is definitely the way forward and really interesting once you get into it, so as you said, stay determined and roll with the punches.

Time to try something a little different, after all, I am still experimenting.

I don't normally enter trades on a Friday evening (just before the market closes in the uk), and I don't normally trade GBP/CHF, but I have entered a long position at 2.3541.

Seven different indicators said "DO IT!", so I did.

Lets see what happens when the market opens tonight.

Closed this one at 14 pips profit. Market started a sideways move then started a reversal.

Looks like I must stick to my trading system/philosophy whereby I wait until the market has settled and found direction.

The market tends to be extremely volatile just before close and during the first day of opening. The closing market tends to have 'rallies' and the opening market reacts to any weekend financial news that has occured whilst closed.

Once again, proof that I should stick to my trading strategy.

Closed this one with 14 pips loss.

Can't see anything else that I fancy trading at the moment but will evaluate the market later today.

    Hello, I'm back.

Been a bit lazy with the trading since the Christmas holiday. Took time off and never returned.

I have however, been working on a new trading system which I have had some success with. See picture below.

Basically, if the red and green line fall below the blue line, and there is enough volume in the MACD to indicate direction, you have a sell signal.

If the red and green are above the blue line, and MACD says there is volume, you have a buy signal.

It works OK on all timeframes, but the example is a 5 minute time frame.

OK Forexers, tear it apart and tell me what you think.

Most of the time I trade EUR/JPY pair in FreshForex broker cause I think it's easy to understand one continent economic news but when we will try to grab all over the worlds news then it will be extremely tough.

the choice of broker must be able to be considered carefully, this is done so that traders can be more leverage in getting maximum trading security and comfort like what I got from Tickmill.

Sometimes the market remains highly volatile and traders should remain abstain from trading during high market volatility.
