Usually I would say:
$ ifconfig - Linux/Unix Systems
> ipconfig - Windows machines.
But these days when I bring up evaluation boards most of them dont have net-tools installed, its the package which implements ifconfig on Linux systems.
So for linux systems I recommend
$ ip a

The MAC address is not on the computer, but on the network card. In other words, a computer may have several MAC addresses if it has several network cards. There are several methods how to find MAC address. I recommend to read this article https://osxtips.net/how-to-find-a-mac-address-in-macos/ everything is clearly written here.
