Is it not possible the 2 very high
denomination notes will be used
for bank transactions only?
and they will introduce 3 smaller notes
for "the people"

Hearsay or not, it was on April 16-19th, during shabbibis vist to Washington, (and yes, it has never surfaced) then the Pension was signed on May 19th supposibly with a Pension rv. It didn't take effect by the Constitution Article 73 I believe, for the Presidential Signature. But it has until June 19th be their own laws to take effect 30 days after made Official, or there is one more clause of another 30 day delay.

What do you think neno? Another 30 day delay? the 19th is almost here. seems like they have a reputation for delaying things. Hurry up and wait.

I think this is where the idea of the 3.22 rate originated from. If .31 NID = 1 USD, then 1 NID = 3.23 USD.

Another comment I have is that the IMF does list oil as one of the commodities that can be used to back a currency. I don't have a link for that, but I have seen that info posted more than once.

In my opinion, there is no way that Iraq will be able to rebuild their infrastructure and/or increase oil production without a substantial investment. I have seen numbers presented in the range of 100 billion or more to get everything going. They just don't have that much in their coffers and I don't see them able to borrow what they need. To encourage foreign investment and to stimulate their economy, they must do something quickly with the exchange rate. Again, that is my opinion.

Commander! You are the Master and Commander! That article you talk about refers to petrodollars - backing a currency with Oil! Cant find the article been searching for awhile but I believe Adster was a big advocate of Petrodollars! As for their rate I believe that it will be atleast 3.22. The IMF and World bank have all said they can set and carry whatever rate they decide to set it at! So lets just sit back and see but in the ened we will be the winners!
