I called the main branch - the 1-800 number. That's what I was told. She just told me it would be no problem. I wasn't surprised because Wachovia has gotten so huge. But you never know if who you're talking to is un-informed. Then wrong answers come out. What I didn't know is that Wachovia doesn't exchange currency. Hmmmmmmm. I'll try another call and talk to someone else. We'll see what the real deal is then.

I really don't think that "cashing-in" for millions of USD will ever be a concern.

Banks do not give you the established rate but "their rate" - that is how they make money. In my travels in China I paid the highest exchange rate than any country I had traveled in and there are many of them. I was told to take it or leave it. Needed to make the exchange so I "took" it and grumbled under my breath about it. The rates also changed daily.
