There are literally millions of wealthy people in this world who would look at this statement and laugh. It happens more than most think...And thats the way they like it. But it happens quite frequently...right under your noses.
I know it seems like alot of people know about the IQD but the overwhelming majority of people in this world do not. Going by my experience, of those who were fortunate to know about it, I'd say maybe 1 in 50 had the guts to invest. Of those who invested, most HOPE it will happen, but do not really BELIEVE it will.
The really big returns on investment ALWAYS "seem" to have overwhelming odds against it. But that's just because most "realistic" people limited lives prevent them from seeing what is ACTUALLY real....Just ask a few wealthy people...They will tell you what possibilities reality REALLY has.
If you can clearly see something in your minds eye, then it is trully possible. Do NOT let people, with their little bitty realities, suck the life from your dreams. Stop talking to them or put them on ignore. People really believe that because something hasn't happened in their lives, or know no one personally, who has experience something huge, that it cannot be done. That is THEIR reality...do not let it be yours.
" All the wisemen said it could not be done, but the fool did it anyway"
What someone chooses to believe or not believe should be their choice. Who made you the police commissioner of the reality police. Like it has been said many times before, let them dream. I'm sure you didn't buy the dinar for any of these "sunshine pumpers", so why do you care. If it bothers you simply don't read the thread. What's childish is that you choose to impose your opinion on to someone who didn't ask for it. What you did is rude, it's like butting into a conversation when no one was talking to you in the first place.
Two great posts in a row! Super! But we really need to ignore this guy, he is feeding off the antagonism he generates.
The reality is Iraq right now has the 2nd largest oil reserves, they are in control of most of Sadaams gold, they are on the brink on being a member of the WTO, about every major corporation is just waiting to set up shop, they have stated their desire to return their currency to its former rate and there are probably several major postitives that I forgot. My reality check leads me to believe that yeah I am going to be wealthy.
I am being ignored because I have a different opinion that conflicts with the desire for an overnight multi-thousand percent increase in the value of the NID. Why can't you people deal with a differing opinion instead of covering your eyes and ears like children? Maybe it's because deep down inside you have a feeling that you won't get filthy rich and you want to keep that thought locked away. My guess is that the people who can deal with reality do not feel the need to ignore a very real possibility.
I feel for you AT....
There is never an easy way to discuss the "What-if's..."
You have every right to discuss it. They have every right to retorts.
Inevitably the optimists end up bashing the person openly asking "What if....(insert negative possibility here)?"
There are no rules stating that the Dinar "MUST RV".
There are no rules stating that the Dinar "WILL RV".
There are no rules stating that the Dinar "WILL NOT RV".
Somehow a majority here believe more in the first two than the last one....
I remain even-keeled as I always have. If it happens, great! If it doesn't happen....I'm not out anything! (I can break even at the current rate)
I enjoy open discussion without bashing. That is what you will get from me.
Thank you.
Finally a voice of reason. Thanks HW, I've always enjoyed reading your posts. I'll admit I may have been a little rude but my intent was never to cause problems. I just hate to see so many people hang their collective hats on such an unlikely hope and blindly following the lead of just a few. Sure...I'd love to see it happen but common sense, even in the face of news that COULD be interpreted in such a way as to support the dream, tells me that dirt will not turn into gold no matter how long you stare at it and wish.
ATMCSMD,
If you disagree please tell us how you see it going or not going. Perhaps it's the way you come across. Instead of saying "it will never happen" how about saying something like "I don't see how it can happen because A, B, C". This would encourage a healthy discussion instead of starting arguments. Who knows, we might actually bring you around if you talk it out...
Good thing then that the Dinar isn't dirt. LOL.
The collective RolClub Gang is a positive force. I praise them for being so positive.....it helps everyone get through the "Watching the paint dry"
One day that paint will be dry, and your dirt may just have gold dust in it.....
As long as atm has turned this into a query of the impossible. I just got off the phone with the foreign exchange department of our local Wells Fargo bank.
The lady named Sandy, said that she has 20 years experience with foreign exchange currencies and has never seen anyone make money by holding and then exchanging the paper currency of another country.
I asked what happens when a currency like the IQD or VND revals?
Her reply was the people living in the country are given a fixed amount of time to turn it in. In return they get the same amount turned in at the new rate. In other words they do not make any money on the reval.
People outside the country cannot exchange and are out of the loop.
She then suggested I talk to their brokerage department. I tried but they said they could not help, and referred me back to her.
Can any one give a rebutal to her statements, and lift my spirits again.
sorry all who have this dude on ignore. this is just one of your negative posts. it wasnt just that it is a differing opinion from ours, anyone can see, that it is laced with contempt for anyone who believes. " standing around with dumb looks on their faces", like we are all *****s or something. we get it, you dont think it will happen. whats the point of trying to make us look stupid for what we think WILL happen? should we all sell? get out of this crazy thing? when we do, and its all said and done, can we call you, and thank you personally, for being one of the few voices of reason in this crazy FANTASY that we somehow found ourselves in?
Hmmm, that's odd...I know for a fact that if you go to Chase they will by your dinar back from you. At B of A I know that when it revals they will do the exchange right at the branch. Maybe you need to change banks. If you need more reassurance I would check with Chase or B of A for yourself. Hope this helps.
I agree its odd. I called them to place an order for VND.
They are the only bank in this area to deal with. No chase or BoA around here.
While placing the order the conversation digressed to what she said that I quoted.
I believe this will happen, what worried me was her 20 years experience in this field.
Is there anyone who has seen people make money on a reval before? Or is this a 1 time unique situation, and we are on uncharted ground.
Sorry got your log in name wrong.
Exactly PAn8tv! I just left B of A, and they are chomping at the bit for this thing to happen. The Bank Manager walked up to me herself and stated she can hardly wait, because it would be one of the largest transactions she would have dealt with in her career in banking. She told me to call her to set up an appointment and she would have a Financial Manager available as well. I told her that I would probably break it up into small chaunk and she said as long as we are able to serve you properly. I told her I had no problem there, so Yes, they are waiting as we are.
I knew someone would have a good response here at Rol Club. She just took me by surprise with her statement. 20 years and all.
Sure do miss that thank you button.
THere's always someone lurking around the corner to try an shoot down your dreams!!!:nunu: :nunu: :nunu:
No problem Icemann, you can be my wingman anytime! Name That Movie?!
The Wells Fargo lady obviously mistook the word "Reval" with the word "Reprint".
Her description states exactly what would happen with a reprint, not a REVAL.

According to the IMF, there was no new LoI on file. At least it wasn't the last time I checked, can someone help me out with this one?
I have checked within the last week. The only letter of intent posted was the last one from Feb. 23rd I believe. But the IMF doesn't have to post a new one right away if recieved, is my understanding.
