Actually, I can live with that too. When I bought my first Dinar about a year and a half ago, I bought them with the thought that it would be 5 or 10 years before I see anything happen with this. I wanted to try to put my children thru college - so I took the chance. If the R/V holds off just a little, I can buy a million more in January and then wait and see what happens.
BUT, if it happened tomorrow, I'd be a happy camper.

Hi
I do not think it will go slowly.
If you think all the laws will be in place by next week. Do you think they will let the big boys come in and buy all Iraq for cheap..... No way.
By the first of January Iraq will have everything a country need and more:
1- Four tons or more of Gold in Vault
2- 15 Billions in currency reserve
3- Oil and Oil and more Oil
4- All the big boys in the world ready to invest money and BIG MONEY...
5- Nearly no more debts
6- 10 Billions of frozen assets back to them etc, etc,....
I think the above speaks for itself.
I cannot see how Iraq will wait untill March or June next.
It has to re-value at least to $1 by January...
Merry Xmas & Happy New Year.

Impossible for a slow reval. To many things happening too fast. Their workers need to be compensated equal to the foriegn workers that will flood in. I see them going to 1.26 for January1 (Or shortly after). Probably why the Gazette website is not updating. 1260=1.26. The Kurds won't allow a weak revaluation. Nor does anybody else. They will LOOSE thier shorts if open the new year weak.
Merry Christmas Everybody.
Rich.

Hey Yo, I know for sure that it won't take long for them to RV. To much at stake here, FIL, HCL and much more. Do you really think they will adjust prices everyday according to the rate. Hamburger today, 500 dinar, tomorrow, 450 dinar, the next day 300 dinar, Yo Adrian, I think we'll wait for Sundays new auction rate to buy that new car. Hey why do they have five different prices at the supermarket for milk. Oh I know, One for everday of the week. Let's not build those new houses for poor people until next year, that way we can have more buying power. It will never happen. Big RV Soon.

I don't think the people of Iraq can wait for a slow reval. This 100 dinar change has done very little for them. It helps, but not that much.

Yo Rock,
I agree, as this continues to rise it in many ways will be self driving aside from policies and laws to be implemented. No way will it be slow and predictable.
What do you think would happen if they started trading this on Forex after even a slight RV
Yo Rock we both know what would happen
Say hello to Paulie

Nice Thread of Thoughts.
I on the other hand, have never counted out the full r/v to open back to the $3+ Mark. They have stated that that is what they wanted to do. I am just like cigarman and just can not prove it. That is a Personal thought, that has always been there, and will be until they prove that it dosen't.

It seems that the state insists, or preserve the value of the Iraqi dinar 148 against the dollar ...Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states [ MOF Sept 2006]
High RV is like Coke; it’s the real thing baby!

I would think probably longer that 13 months if goes slow.. It would probably slow down the closer it gets to the 1:1 goal, due to the increasing value of the dinar. Just another reason they wont go slow and go for a large revalue. We wont have to worry about going slow once FIL,HCL,ect.. all are inacted.
