IMHO, the CBI is not looking at the market to determine which direction to go. Rather the CBI has a target that it wants to reach and will "pump their stock" by making statements, releasing information and changing the exchange rate. The Market responds and then the CBI can continue to rase the rate even more.

So it only appears that the CBI is following the market. In fact we already know the targets because they have told us: 1350 by the end of the year per IMF and the most recent statement that the 2007 budget is based on the rate of 1260. We here at rolclub have been holding a microscope up to the situation and have seen tidbits here and there that have pointed to a rate of somewhere around 1-1 at some point in the future. Once the HCL,FIL,ICI have been put into action then we will rapidly leave the 1260 rate behind for much greener pastures.

So, Neno, does this analysis jive with what you are hearing from your source?
Perhaps he has inside info that there is a target of somewhere above 1-1 that must be reached by July 7. Inquiring minds want to know.

By the way Merry Christmas/happy holidays to all of RolCLub.

    Peace,
    Michael

    Cool Hummmm,

I was still here. Yes he does & it Jives. He has also stated the 1260, never the 1345. If I remember right, has 1345 ever been proved to be posted somewhere? Just a Question. But I am leaving now and will report back later.

It is kind of a moot point now that the 1260 rate has been announced. However , I believe the 1345/50 rate was part of the IMF standby agreement, I could be wrong but someone somewhere said 1345 by the end of 2006 (other than people here at rolclub)
Anyway, sounds like your source is a good one (because he agrees with my analysis he he he) must be a smart one.

Cheers and thanks for reporting from your source and all the good moderating

    Neno:
This is only my second post, but I wanted to say a couple of things if yall don't mind.
#1 Neno keep posting what you know as you see positive to the board. I personally enjoy the input.
#2 I have traded equities and currencies for several years now. That don't make me a know it all but I have seen some things in my trading experience. Nothing will go straight up or down in value. It will have corrections. I have also experienced many shakeouts. (A shakeout is where they will move a trade opposite the trend sharply for no apparent reason then after shaking out the weak hands then it would move back to it pre correction point and then continue the trend.) It is very common that after a shake out there will be a big news event creating a large move in the trade, much to the dismay of the owners who got shook out. So that being said. Hang on because I think it is gonna get pretty interesting here real soon.

Not to take away from your trading experience im1vestr... but, keep in mind that the Iraqi economy is in a position that no other economy has ever been in. The country has all those natural resources to back up their currency. That fact alone could potentially make the economy react in a manner different than any other in history. Not saying it will but that possibility is there (which we are all hoping for).

I agree that investing in the IQD is a different breed than the ordinary currency but what I am saying is that there is still market makers for the IQD and they can influence the price to some extent. Now that is my opinion only. I just hope that the new holders of the IQD don't bail when things like the RV don't go like some people think (and I hope). Never the less this is a possibility of being a major life changer for a lot of people. I do not think that many of the veterans will even consider selling till it hits their predetermined exit price.

I'm curious, have you ever watched or analyzed a currency that actually had a program rate and not the real rate? The current dinar rate is the program rate and not the true value. What problems does this create in determining what it might do?
    Please, somebody shoot the messenger!
