Fair point. I gave up on rumours a long time ago. None of them have come true. Facts will bring this reval home. I still hear rumours via emails but have refused to post them openly for a long time.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Halliburton (Oil) has been set up in Kuwait for years....the Dubai move has nothing to do with Iraq (the economic side) or the IQD.

fyi : Halliburton will remain a legal USA company. Therefore taxes will
continue to be paid to the IRS. If Halliburton is an oil exploration company
doesn't it make sense to be where the oil is ? BUT we can only hope that
maybe they do know something !

We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.

Halliburton continuing to pay taxes to the USA after the move is a debatable point. Dubai is a tax free country with limited oil resources.....you do the math.

For sure. Money makes money and the rich 'know' where to invest, whether it be in certain stocks/shares/currency or property. The rich look after their 'own'.

Thanks Adster, I too am a little worn out with the rumor ride. But can we trust what is "fact"? Didn't you say not to believe everything you read also?

Sorry Mods, I know this is straying way off the Iraq subject, but...

it was just on the ABC Evening News that so long as Halliburton is a US registered company, they will pay US taxes. From what I understand, they are moving the Headquarters to Dubai, but with leaving the corporate office in Houston, they are still a US registered company. Now, if they were moving the entire company to Dubai, they may not be registered in the US any longer and, therefore, not paying US taxes. However, that is not the case, for now anyway.
