I agree 100%.We are probably being monitored by some of those Iraqi
officials and we ought to tell them right here and now that we the American
people are highly agitated with them and they should got out of bed and
do something!Like revalue their money!!!

Lets not forget that the Kurds are now probably on vacation till March.....ouch.

They're using their currency internationally now so, even if they reprint, they would have to exchange ALL - they can't just say, if you're not the right person/not in the right location, yours is worthless.

They could issue smaller denoms and exchange 1000 to 1 leaving wages the same in dinars but then everybody's current holdings would be devalued - including the government since they've been ordered to deal in dinars. Major construction projects would be bankrupted, major firms would too. And how many investors worldwide including banks?

It really doesn't seem likely.

It is probable that they will be switching to the GCC currency in 2010 or thereabouts.

“The Sadrist bloc intends to announce today its return to the government and parliament after a consultative meeting was held today with the Unified Iraqi Coalition,” lawmaker Nassar al-Rubaie, of Sadrist bloc, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI) over the phone.
Last week, , a source close to the Premier’s office said the Sadrists decided to end their suspension and return to the government and parliament after a meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, whose parliamentary bloc garnered 30 seats, had suspended the Sadrists' membership in parliament and government in protest against a meeting Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki had with U.S. President George W. Bush in the Jordanian capital Amman late in November, and failure to hammer out a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq.

In Mr. Knowles recent posting he mentions reports of Bank, Airlines and others buying up Dinar. I have searched by can't locate any mention of this. Can anyone direct me to the posting that has this info.

This was floating around last week. A lot of people missed it. Well worth seeing again, but some may have already seen it.

Looks like they intend to get back to pre war rate back in the 80s. Sounds also like they're justifying a reval by going for it large style. With the big players there, Shabibi, Zubaidi and the IMF who oversee events/changes, that's serious business alright. These are the 3 to recommend and agree a reval rate.

They're also aware they're losing so much to bootlegging due to oil/gasoline being sneaked out of the country and sold for more in neighbouring countries they know it cannot continue. Selling it off for pennies, sound familiar eh?

Bottom line is they're losing a fortune because they have a false artificial shiite rate of exchange.

12 Trillion Iraqi dinar, Iraq's Budget This Year

In a press statement Baban said that the mentioned amounts delivered as 3 trillion iraqi dinar for oil ministry projects to rehabilitation oil sector, while electric ministry specifics amounted 1 trillion and 745 billion dollars for proving electric energy in the state.


He added that they specified 430 billion iraqi dinar for health ministry and 425 billion iraqi dinar for municipality ministry besides 422 billion iraqi dinar for housing ministry and other 336 billion iraqi dinar for education sector.


On the other hand, he mentioned that there were many situations forced such conditions which couldn't pass over like the high expenses for security and defense sector estimated 10 trillion iraqi dinar besides the high salaries after the falling of the ex-regime.
