    Question I Dont Get It

Can someone please clue me in why everyone is getting so excited about the value getting to 1260?

We need at LEAST 1.31 IQD to 1 USD to get people to the point where they can get themselves out of debt, maybe do some investing....

    Am I missing something?

Personally I want to see .74 IQD to 1 USD.

1260 IQD to 1 USD? Why the excitement?

    Please clue me in.

The 1260 rate has been stated by Iraq as the rate that their 2007 budget is based on (41 Billion USD). At 1260, if this was converted to an amount in Dinars, it would equate to far more Dinar than Iraq has printed.

So it has been assumed that with a reval the 1260 would be converted into $1.26. However, since the rate didn't get to 1260 by the end of the year, like most of us thought, it is anyone's guess now as to what the rate might be.

    Oh, ok. That makes sense.

I keep reading all of the negatives and positives. Negatives are saying this will go on for years. Positives are saying very very soon, like next week.

With all of the information out there, it doesn't make sense to me for Iraq to drag this out.... there are too many people waiting to invest and it almost seems counterproductive if they continue to slowly increase the way they have been 1460, 1448, 1400, 13....

This whole situation is nothing like I have even heard of before... It's crazy.

You are correct, Iraqi IS like nothing heard before, they are a very unique situation. Also, the nay-sayers are correct too - so far it has taken years - since 2003 to be exact.

This also means that the yeah-sayers are correct as well because Iraq is running out of time. The people are fed up, outside investors are lined up and waiting (and they'll only wait so long) and they are on a timetable with the WTO and the IMF. So, at this point, a reval should be very, very soon. A slow rise, as you've said, won’t help the Iraqi's and only fuel more speculation.

Since you put it that way, I would have to agree with you an all counts. 2004 is when I bought in and here we are nearing 2007.... nearly 4 years of this madness.

I have been to a lot of websites, positive and negative. Some of the negative ones are constructive, and others are outright nasty. It makes no sense to me why people would write such articles that make it sound like that this is just a big scam.

I have carefully reviewed all of the information over these years and remained positive, not because I WANT it to revalue, but because everything I have read on both sides still to this day favors a strong reval. It all makes too much sense.

Iraq would only benefit from a reval. I would also go as far to say that if they do NOT reval SOON... they are going to suffer. Unless I am missing something.... something that no one has seen or heard about during all this mess.

I'm not a financial guru.... far from it in fact. But it's just common sense.

I could be wrong even after weighing all of the negative and positive outlooks.

But I'm with you 100% on this one.

I just recently started watching very closely on a daily basis since October when things really started to move and the clock just keeps ticking down for our friends in Iraq.

Let's not ignore the negative side of this completely, but continue to watch and wait (it's a short wait now).

Also I believe no one should bash those people that are negative about this. Everyone has their opinion about things. Some of them are just venting because they have been waiting and waiting and have read too many negative articles and have lost hope. Others, well... they are who they are and there's nothing wrong with that.

But for the rest of us.... I do believe we are close to achieving something very great and very real that will benefit us all, including our friends in the middle east.

Put it this way...if it does contradict to all the popular beliefs... someday, it will lead all the way back to The White House... where the campaign drive basically began....

    Would it??? or Wooot it.....

Yb. - cheers and rethink which is it... what's the odds here having most of the entire Int'l Comminity bungling on this Bushy ride/joke????
