To put the sheer size of this property into perspective, it's 154 square miles.
Las Vegas Nevada covers 84 square miles.
Reno Nevada covers 69 square miles.

See that's where alot of folks are having the misconception about the current ISX stocks. What are we talking about here, we're talking about less than your average penny stocks here in the US. Stocks from companies, you, being here nice and comfy in the US have no insight into the fundamentals of the company you're buying. Sure it's a bargain right now, but maybe it's really what it's really worth. Remember the internet stock boom? Alot of those internet stocks folded and the rest is history. I'm not trying to be a pessimist here, I'm merely stating facts. My advise, look up "reverse stock splits." That is what's going to happen to all those ISX stocks if there is a reval. The notion that upon reval, your stocks will suddenly be worth more based on a reval is an illusion. The good thing about the ISX is once the big investors comes in, if the company you purchased stocks from have good fundamentals, then your stocks will likely reap excellent ROI.

I am new at buying stocks and shares, but what i dont understand is why the share prices will 'reverse split' on a reval. Can someone with more knowledge than me tell me what happened when the exchange rate devalued itself. What would have happened to the shares. My understanding is that the 1.50 dinar price per share is still 1.50 dinar multiplied by what you have. Help Im confused.

I do not know what you can buy for $6.68 in the US, probably about the same.

But what can you buy in Iraq ?

Many are saying itś not worth very much, but I wonder......

so over $6 is like a weeks groceries.

If thatś true then even without a R/V, 10,000 iqd will be very welcome to most Iraqis.

I agree, despite the statement about the Dinar rising in value in '06, If we don't see a reval before the 10k dinar is handed out it may be a while. We all know how Iraq works with a deadline. they may say by the end of the week and it takes 2 months, or by the end of the month and it takes six. I can only imagine what a year could equate to on their timeline.

True , but it was a different situation, unemployment was higher, Inflation was MUCH lower and I don't believe there were quite so many people upset about the amount. In actuality 10k this year is 50% to 70% less than they received last year do to inflation
