Well, yesterday I called Chase and took them by complete surprise as I was the first to even mention the Iraqi dinar! I asked if they had any dinar on hand in any of the Tulsa branches. The nice exchange officer had to do some calling around and got back to me very promptly. The New York branches had some on hand and would have to ship it to Tulsa. And get this, she slipped (because of her complete surprise) and said we have someone here from your town right now! She asked a few questions and I most politely answered. You know, I am now an official Dinar Genuise.

Last nite my friend called and said that our mutual friend just happened to be at the Chase bank in Tulsa and heard them mention my name and had to call and see if it was really me. Yeahhhh!

When I arrived at Chase this morning and asked for the exchange officer they all said, "You must be Monica! We have been eagerly awaiting your arrival. You got this place in quite a stir yesterday. We have all jumped on board and now we are proud owners of dinar." They proceeded to ask questions and I continued to answer with my vast knowledge (lol) that I have attained over these last months with the help of all my friends here.

What a great story!

Okay, here is the question..... One of the tellers, who was a tad bit negative, (got one in every pot), asked why none of their Iraqi customers are beating down the doors to buy the dinar. I answered that I did not know, maybe they had relatives in Iraq purchasing it for them. It is cheaper over there. Or maybe they don't know that Chase is selling it.

Any of you have any comments?

Monica
I have an answer for you. But first a little background on where the answer came from. My husband is a truck driver, and a creature of habit. He stops at the same fuel stop a couple of times a week. He has gotten to be friends with the owners -a father and son- who just so happen to be from Iraq. When my husband first found out about this investment he immediatly went to his friends and asked their advice. They laughed at him, and told him his wife was stupid for wasting her money. Of course my husband had to come home and tell me how stupid I was for wasting money on an investment that will never make anything. Time went on, and I have told my husband of all the things Iraq is accomplishing. He is now seeing how this was not such a stupid investment. He has since gone back to that same fuel stop and asked them why they think it is a stupid investment. Well, according to them, they were millionair's with the old dinar, and lost everything. They honestly feel that the "government" over there will never be anything but "corrupt", and therefore they would do nothing that would be helpful to their people. Now I don't know that many American Iraqi's, but if they all feel this way, of course they wouldn't be buying back into an economy and a government that they feel broke them in the first place. Hope this is understandable, as I am kind of in a hurry.
