Soon as you’ve started operating your cleaning service, you’ll probably think of searching for ways to impress your customers and make them want to decide to be one of your regular customers. There are really a lot of ways to do this, and here are a few tips to help you out make your customers call you up again and again for a regular cleaning service.

1. Be professional and courteous at all times. These two traits are the most important characteristics of the people you would want to deal with constantly. Answering the phone with a constant even if your clients cannot see you will make them feel that smile when you talk to them and encourage them to eventually hire you for their cleaning jobs. You should also know more about organizing schedules so you won’t show up late for your cleaning jobs. It is also important to prepare a cleaning plan before showing up at your client’s place so that you can efficiently do your job. Most customers are easily turned off when you are not organized and come up without some of the things you need to do the job.

2. Involve your clients when you make a cleaning plan. Once a customer calls up to hire you for their cleaning job, make a short trip to their place to inspect the premises. Doing this will give you an opportunity to personally talk to them and discuss the things that you will do and the time that you need to complete such tasks. Coordinate with homeowners on the most convenient time to come in for a cleaning job. You should also let your customer know if you are the one who will clean or if you have some other person to do the job. Ask and welcome your clients’ suggestions, do not keep on talking without listening to them. You should always remember that it is their home and they should have the last decision on what and how things should be done.

3. Respect your client’s privacy. When on a cleaning gig, you should always remember that it is someone else’s place and you need to respect their private place and belongings. Customers may also have rules on which parts of the house can be entered into or touched. You must also keep in mind that anything you see and hear while you are cleaning their home is not yours to share with other people. Do not talk about the house, the contents, or the people living inside it with anyone, not even to your closest family or friends.

4. Always give attention to small details. Coins you’ve picked up while cleaning can be easily forgotten so always check your pockets for those things that you might have found in corners or under the carpet before leaving the house. These things may easily be overlooked by some people, but if you always return these little things back to the owner, you will see that they’d be commending your trustworthiness. They will easily refer you to their friends and family.

5. And lastly, while you are cleaning and your clients are around their homes, encourage small talk and smile at them. However, you should still maintain you schedule and make sure that this will not affect your work. If you are finished and needs to move over the next portion of the house, politely excuse yourself from the conversation with your client and resume working on the next area.
