I'm sorry - I had a total brain meltdown or something... Totally forgot to post. Of course, the site went down for maintenance shortly after I posted this... Anyways...

Order went through just fine. Ordered only 100K (don't want to be too greedy - Only ordered what I could afford at the time), and it cost me $79 and change. Of course, I may not see the dinar until Wednesday, due to the holiday Monday, and the National Day of Mourning for President Ford on Tuesday, but I do not anticipate any problems.

It still amazes me that banks can offer services and none of the tellers seem to know how to navigate their menus to provide such services. It took them almost 30 minutes to process my order, because the regular teller I used in the past was not there. Oh well - I won't complain - I got my order in, and that's all that really matters...

Thanks for reminding me to post my update. Maybe next time I say I'll post an update, I won't have anal-cranial loop-back, and actually remember what I said I'd do.
Four years ago... no, it was yesterday. Today I... No, that wasn't me. Sometimes I... No, I don't.

Just thought I'd tell you guys.

He got back to me and said that he has not been able to get uncirced notes from his source for a while, and that times are basically hard all over.
He also said that he heard that a increase was coming soon.

Default Follow up Re Barclays Bank

Well I have just given my friend the third degree and now have some more facts. I think we were both in shock yesterday and have asked for clarification.

This is the order of events for Yesterday (Friday)

My friend had told her husband that things were moving - up 10% etc and he suggested getting a few more dinar.

She phoned Barclays International (has an account with them and has bought dinar at various times from them)

She placed her order and paid for them.(She didn't tell me how many but said it was £203 including commission.)

She then went shopping and just after she got home she had a call from
The Barclays International Call Centre at Peterborough.saying she could not have her dinar.

    Why ?
We are not selling anymore as we have withdrawn them.

    Why?
Because the Iraqi dinar is about to be re-valued.

(I asked my friend if this is what he said "about to be re-valued ")
and she replied YES why do you keep asking?

She doesn't realise the significance of this remark as I have been the one that has followed this forum daily since July 05.

Thanks for giving your friend the third degree after getting the third degree yourself here. It sounds good, I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for sharing this great info, Sallyl!

This is awsome news and confirms what a lot of us are thinking.

In my opinion there is no possibility of opening the doors for the world and increasing that dinar bit by bit, I think they need a good exchange rate and it comes!

    Thanks again!
"There is a paragraph about investment in this year's budget which provides for having the Iraqi dinar as the main currency in the 2007 budget," Sulagh said (Minister of Finance).

The head of the Research and Statistics, Dr. Mohamed Saleh:
The rate of 75% of the real exchange rate of the dollar to improve...
