I believe that most of us live in areas where zoning and property maintenance laws apply. Perhaps some of you in unincorporated areas, such as rural areas of the country, have very little regard for non-existent laws. Whether you have laws in place or not, whether they are actually enforced, is a real difference.
I believe that strict but fair and equal enforcement of property maintenance codes is a key component of maintaining high property values, reducing crime, and instilling a sense of pride in the community, which increases the likelihood of attracting small businesses and maintaining a better quality of life.
So, the question I ask each of you is this. How do you think the maintenance of the property affects the appearance of the community?
