I used to pull up into the Shell bay simply becoz I wanted my beastly beauty to have the "better" fuel to perform well...
For the last 15 years, IT DIDN'T MATTER to be honest....esp. if you have a reliable higher end motor altogether and the ones I pump at is not only cheaper in the country, all the fairy tales about the unbranded names may carry some truth but NOT with one that is a leading retailer as well...
They can't afford to fool at the pumps however, back to the names bit, THERE'S NO NAME involved...so, staying away from the top names won't trickle either way... the ones that regulate the quota and balance are all into it together anyway and it is absolutely necessary they stay afloat balancing the availability against the fluctuating price leveraged at the consumer... the best way not to show any dependency is either "cycle" or run a full-fledged sunpowered vehicle!!!....

well yogi if that was feasible for me I would peddle, but allas I have too many things to take to work & it would involve 30-80 miles one way (depending on job site) every day into the hills on gravel roads with 20 -25 % grades common . 4 wheel drive is a must ! as far as solar power it is out the window too, avg. around 300 rainy days a year
it was quite interesting the reaction when some foresters (from sweden I think ) visited to see the management & how we cable logged on the west coast with slopes of 70-90% common . they were more than a little nervous riding in that bus up the steep narrow roads. when they got to the landings on top they couldn't take enough pictures it seemed liked. You could see the awe & amazement upon thier faces .
well back on subject I would like to but those major companies are all thats around this area . my fuel bill has been from 800+ - 1300+ every month this past year . I have done everything I can to improve the economy in the vehicles I drive too

Have you considered the Lexus RX400I? with dual power supplied during traction...? I'm now considering the Hyundai Santa Fe for its 4WD and cool torque delivered and running on a CRD version. Better value for mileage and I cruise a modest average of only 55K yearly for the last 4 years now, used to clock around 160K kms yearly just for the leisure bit alone around Europe!
I don't suppose you'll ever consider the new Jeep Commander then??? Its caught my fancy quite seriously as a viable option to the Santa Fe for our regions.
On the part of fillin' er up.... and for the reason I ply mostly on long stretches at a time, I don't ever risk mine below the half tank before pulling her in again for the refill, its a habit for umpteen years now and never wanting to be caught in a situation where one runs out of gas at an odd spot, esp. up in remote, undulating landscapes where the 4WD consumes much more than on the fast roads.

Hi Everyone,
I am sorry, I do not know just were I can put this. I have something that is truly going to make the gas companies a wee bit upset. And I am very happy about it. I guess you need to go to my web by way of I am not sure if I can put it here.
It cost $1 a pill, and it goes like this...1 pill to 8 gals of gas, so if you have 10 gals you use 2 pills. It works very well on cars, trucks, Motorcycles, lawn mowers, diesels and what ever you have that is combustible. sorry about the spelling...
Smile, I do believe we have one up on them. If you need to talk to me, email me.
Freespirit.

I will advise you to create your link within your signature that you will find in your CP. It's a good BIO-base product worth letting others know. I will remove your links after this.

Corn fuel
Here in the US we have a huge factory about to be built in the middle of corn country in Indiana the Hoosier state, my home state. Now I'm not sure, I have heard they use the by-product, not the actual corn itself to produce the fuel, which to me is another plus.
However, some of the town-folk are trying to fight it'd locating there on the edge of town in the Industrial Park, because the factory puts out a constant annoying hummmm. Well, that would drive me batty. We sure do need the jobs as well as the product. I'm sure there's some willing farmer out in the middle of nowhere who would be more than willing to sell a good chunk of land.
Anyway, products are coming about. I believe there are more fuel alternatives probably known for years, and stamped with a big 'ol Classified
In the meantime there are products , the pills, powder, & liquid to help conserve gas & help the economy, been on TV shows.========================================
