Just a short message to send a blessing to all the Aussies. Just read about the terrible storm over there. I am so sorry! This old Earth is sure complaining about it's care. Bless you all. Hobbit8

Thanks hobbit8 for your thoughtfulness. I'm not sure the latest update, but as far as I know no-one has lost their lives and hundreds are homeless and a lot of crops have been wiped out. The cyclone was up in north Queensland around Cairns. Cyclone Larry has been downgraded to a tropical low. Another cyclone coming behind, not sure where it's up to. Maybe another Aussie from QLD may be able to keep us informed.
Thanks again

Cyclone Wati
I am sure the people in the affected area appreciate your good wishes. The news so far is that only a few people had minor injuries and no loss of life but extensive damage to property. In some areas ALL buildings had at least some damage. Sugar and Banana crops flattened.
The next cyclone is (as of 10 am local time) 750 klm. ENE of Mackay. Which is just a little south of where "Larry" came in. It is intensifying and travelling slowly towards the coast.
I am not in the affected area but if "Wati" continues on this path I will be in the path of the outerside edge of any affected areas. Possibly by Friday morning.
Thank you for your warm wishes
Joy

Thanks Hobbit8
Than you for your kind wishes Hobbit8. Let us hope and pray that Cyclone Wati decides to give us all a miss.
BTW Hurricanes are called Cyclones here in the Southern Hemisphere

Looks like it's passed us by ... lots of rain and wind last night; think it's all over now ...
No deaths, a few injuries, 1 in every 2 buildings had some level of destruction, all banana and sugarcane crops totally flattened ... lots of rebuilding to be done ...
Thanks for all the kind thoughts and prayers for those in need -- keep 'em coming!!
