Sure did yr best transpiring your approach on HOW and WHY and at WHICH type... fact is, there's just too many now that had seen better days and lived to tell the grief painfully that keywords sounding familiar to short spins and Plans or programs are beginning to loose their faith with the masses that were once sadly ripped-off somewhat.

Only the die-hards will stay or linger on the risky quest with chances but on much smaller & affordable amounts and those that cannot afford even the smaller sums... they are still with the wishful thinking of striking BIGGER than Warren Buffet's in one miraculous swoop within several weeks ... in the meantime, they have also lost the energy, spare cash and appetite to digest common sense to persevere wealth that comes only with long term patience and investments in real money related commodities... which outlandish plans and promises don't ever get to materialize, short of secrecy and anonymities from the operators running the scheme...

...aaand with the current malaise with money running short on most households in the USA... its hard to sway the badly hit players of today, you either have alot of money or you DON'T but just enough to buy a burger for family & kids for another day... and rap oneself with free downloaded music as long as it gets....

Sad times evolving for now and there's no let up for another few years if one does not have more than spare cash stash away for any rainy day and most are struggling hard to avoid the "dude" showing up on behalf of the credit card company....for paybacks!!!

YB: I understand what you are saying, but the truth of the matter is NOW is the time to do exactly what I said in my previous post. Working a second job for only 20 hours a week, can add an extra $10,400 (that is gross at only $10/hr) a year. Take out taxes, and you can add over $7,000 to your investment portfolio in a year's time. Also, if people are like me, I bet they could sell over $1,000 in items they have they no longer use in a garage sale.

I had a very dear friend who died just before Christmas. He had this painting hanging on the wall that you never really paid much attention to due to its location. It was on the wall on the landing of his stairs. Not much to look at, and really didn't give it much thought. After he died, his wife decided to rent the house, and move into an apartment. The painting had to go. We were trying to decide what to do with it when another friend took a look at it because he liked it. When he "really" looked at it, he discovered it was from an artist that had been popular back in the 70's in the abstract art field. So, he decided to see what it was worth. We almost fell over when we found the value was close to $10,000. A piece we almost threw away. Now that does not mean that you would be able to sell it for $10,000, unless it was a true collector of this artist's paintings. But my point is you never know just what you have and its value until you start checking it out. The painting went to storage. LOL! I'm sure one day, someone will want it for its true value, and she will sell it. What many of us think of as junk, others see it as a collectible. I could kick myself in the seat of the pants a hundred times for the things I threw away, that today would be worth thousands of dollars. I just want people to check things out before just tossing something, or giving it away. I know that 99% of what we have is not worth much, but you never know what that 1% might bring.

Actually here's another idea for all of you to consider. If you have a car payment, consdier a second job to pay it off faster. Then continue to set aside each month what you would have paid for your car payment. At the end of the year, you will be amazed at just how much money you have saved by doing this. Since you already make this payment each month, you won't even miss the money. As I said, there are many, many ways to change things you are doing and instead putting that money to work for you in savings. I know many of you can think of many more ideas than I have presented in these posts of mine. Put your mind to work, and don't be surprised how it will change your future.

Thats true Lynn... such are these hard times for most it can be and still to be reminded of the simplest things with managing one's least thought about household "junk" that can surprisingly fetch crazy offers at today's impulsive & whimsical purchases on items least regarded or desired.

Back To Basics should be the norm in educating all levels to appreciate what we now have, antiquated it may be but a masterpiece for a minority always on the lookout for a glitter that sparkles at the most remotest corner up in the attic!!!

I have given up smoking a long time... started at 11 and stopped in time to enjoy life from the daily perils many of my age suffers deeply.

I have a gold onyx Dunhill lighter which my once "luvly flame" back then bought for me while we went window shopping and seriously, I didn't expect her to surprise me on the spot of a High Street Dunhill shop to present me with a chique model that I still have today... from 1970!!!

I don't know how long more I will keep it but anyone still smoking out there who wants an authentic British Made lighter, in 14K Gold, PM me or make a handsome offer I can't resist...

Nooo, its nothing to do with the hard time$$4 by my side perhaps I can let a charity group put to good use with money on an Orphanage that is from another country I know about.

And yes, back to the topic, a slow but patient process will certainly reap a big surprise with what unsuspecting savings can deliver after a period. Good tips there Lynn and hopefully, it sends home some thoughts to those waiting to read and digest these great advise you share with us on the Forum...

I am going to leave it up to the members to decide if this thread needs to continue or not. If it has not helped you, or you feel you have enough information without needing more, then let's close this thread. If, on the other hand, you would like more information about specific investment products, then I will gladly give you an overview of each, and the things to look out for before buying.

Let me know if you want to continue, and what topics you want discussed. This is for you, and I'm glad to help any way I can. It is not for me to just spout off. I hope others will also join with information (berty, yb, ?????). I have a very busy upcoming schedule, but will make time. I just need to know so I can budget my time to do so.

Thanks to all who have read these posts, and hope it has helped you.
