Thread: Does higher leverage lead to higher loss?

Yeah, I think one additional thing is that you need to also know the situation in which Leverage is used, so that you can decide that it was good or bad, and that's where brokers comes into play.

Why do people see only negative side of things? If high leverage can lead to higher losses won’t it help us achieve greater profits? I am sure it definitely will bring larger profits if we are positive but if we from start have such horrible thoughts of losses than really you can’t get any good results.

I am working with OctaFX broker and they have extremely high leverage size allowed which is up to 1.500 so that allow us to perform well even with low capital and even to be secured we can use their rebate service where we earn up to 15 USD per lot size trade which will give us great stability and we can be fearless as well.

Higher leverage might lead to greed but never losses because that can happen even with low leverage, hence we must accept our mistake instead of putting blame on other stuff, I do the same with my trading, as I never blame OctaFX broker, it is never anyone’s fault if a person lose. In fact, I feel great advantages of trading with due to their high leverage of 1.500 and even the spread levels are so low with been 0.2 pips, so all is pretty good.

for the the selection of leverage depends on the individual trader. if it has a good MM and RM then trading using high leverage is very advantageous because the resilience of our accounts will be awake. For now I prefer trade with leverage 1:1000

Leverage must be maximized because it will make us can start trading with demo account. I only use small amount in TenkoFx and try to maximize 1:500 for trading. It's helpful enough, even it will help us to minimize the risk in using big lot size.

trading using high leverage will hurt us if we can not use the leverage it well, therefore we need to be more careful when trading with high leverage such as 1: 1000 in instaforex. and we must use the SL and TP

trading with big leverage may help us to safe our money, same like me who use standard account from HiWayFx, we can use leverage up to 1:1000 and use lot minimum till 0,01.

Agree. And also, money and risk management is necessary in order to survive in this business. Just like what I did when scalping on ECN account in HiWayFX...

but i think use a big leverage does not affect to higher lose, a thing that can affect to higher close is if u use a bigger lot. just take care when u prefer lot that u will trader.

to try minimize lose at my account standard in HiWayFx, i use little lot like 0,01. because as like what u said, big lot give u big risk, so just be patient, till i got a big profit so i can do forex trading use big lot.
