Thread: heres a new rumor, dont know if its true or not but what if it is??

Hi yall just got back on to see what was happening
I talked to a 1st Sgt with the MITT team in Mosul (MITT team deals with the Iraqi soldiers first hand)and he says that he heard that the bad LOP word will come back into play and now that the rate is at 1200 this morning it may all start to come together. If the LOP does occur let's hope it will be only 1 "0" and not three. He seams to believe that the dinar will reprint, I sure hope not anyway your thoughts................

Well dinar are going back to cbi at larger amounts than are leaving.

Maybe I'm losing my reasoning ability, but it seems to me that there is a big hole in the LOP theory.

If I am an Iraq (I'm not!) with 1 Million Dinar in the bank, or under my mattress, and suddenly it is Lopped by deducting (say) 1 zero from the face value, then either the bank has to give me 10 times the value back in additional notes, and I now have 10 Million Dinar, or the currency has actually devalued by 1000%.

If on the other hand the currency is reprinted, then I (as an Iraqi) can take my 1 Million Dinar in to the bank and swap it for 100,000 of the 'new' currency.

If THAT happens, then the Million Iraq Dinar I have sitting back in New Zealand is also exchangeable for the 'new' currency, and I am not disadvantaged, even though I don't gain anything value-wise, and may have some challenges actually making the exchange.

Or am I wrong in my thinking?

GrahamB, your logic seems together for me. I don't see a reprint in the future (JMO) but one "0" lop won't end the world as we know it or make the average Iraqi man on the street happy . I think we are about to find out how this Novel ends in the next month or so. Hope for a small, smooth Rv and I will drop by and buy the first round. Best, warrior

I find it odd that all the prominent dinar forums are having problems. Could it be that it's a blackout before the hammer drops? I have no link or proof, just wearing my conspiracy theory hat. Or just a a virus is being passed around. Who knows!!

What should be watched now is any change in policy of banks selling dinar.

Yes, Chase and the other banks, in U.S and England.
