Ooooo, good point.

I would like to think that this is a smoke screen. If it's not however, there is some conflicting news?! Take a look at Mike5200's post in the Think Tank thread, sounds like some really good news to me!

IRAQI KURDS APPROVE DRAFT OIL LAW...
Kurdistan region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani said on June 25 that his government has approved a draft oil law and has informed the Iraqi government in Baghdad, the independent Voices of Iraq news agency reported the same day. "I sent a message to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to update him on our approval of the proposed draft law and we will wait to have it sent to the parliament," Barzani said. Kurdish lawmakers rejected an earlier draft on the grounds that it gives the central government too much control over the distribution of the oil revenues. Under the revised draft, the Kurdish regional government (KRG) would directly receive a share of the oil proceeds, believed to be approximately 17 percent of total Iraqi oil revenues. The draft law had stalled due to partisan bickering since February and the Kurds' approval represents the removal of a major hurdle for the establishment of a comprehensive oil and gas law in Iraq. Lawmakers in parliament are set to discuss the draft oil law within a few days. SS
....also the Iraq Trade & Investment Conference being held June 26 - 27....
Not that I've heard/read...fer cryin'out loud, I sure hope not!
damn good thing we have someone around here pointing out all the negative stuff in the media. has it occured to anyone that they have one parliamentarian that just was arrested for murder and the speaker himself is stepping down and the disruption in parliament MIGHT be causing the delay?
kinda hard to hold parliament without a speaker and with one cabinet member in the process of bein busted.
i stated a long time ago the iraqis will complete things IN THEIR OWN TIME. not because someone in the usa says so, not because threats are made weekly. because, as you can see, a threat has been made almost weekly and they continue AT THEIR OWN PACE. making sure they are creating a country that will be worth staying in. alot to be said for doin it the right way instead of the quick way.
right on, susie.....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
keep prayin for them, first and foremost.
and because they are knuckleheads....
I think if it wasnt for the Kurds...nothing would be happening...
If the kurds get up and running....and start making money with oil...
we will see turn around...
.
It helps to have as many data points as possible, whether positive news indicating progress or negative news indicating hindrance, so that one can form an individual educated opinion of the situations in Iraq potentially affecting our individual investments/speculations. JMO
there were and are many times in the past 2 years where because of some members of parliament NOT SHOWING up for work that they had to skip or pass on voting on anything[like laws]because they did not have enuff for a quota....I doubt very seriously that the one minister that got arrested for murder and the speaker stepping down is the real reason they have adjouned until next week.....so yes....it has occured to me that there have been delays....many delays before this one time.....Pat
Hi Pat,
Agreed, with all the illiterates, crooks, traders and killers in parliament, no wonder half don't show up, they are all guilty, and I am certain afraid to show up knowing many of them will be discovered soon, just as I expected. This is the main reason for all delays, not the laws being delayed, but the parliament is to blame and they should all be thrown out of office and start from scratch, which is also being discussed finally. This is and has been the reason we are all still waiting. It is far worse than what has slipped out to date, so stay tuned, parliament is doomed.
Good luck and health to all, Mike
Yes, some things are going on but maybe just a smoke screen to hide what they are doing which may be meeting to get things done. If those that would do them harm think they are not meeting, they can hold their meetings unencumbered. Just a possibility. . .JMHO
Yuk is right! I saw her too!http://smileys.on-my-web.com/reposit...ting/vomit.gif
What Are The Chances That The Week Off For Parliament Is A Smoke Screen And The Rv Will Happen July 1.
Probably as good of chances as the American congress passing the immigration bill by July 1.... slim to none.
there are no smokescreens. this is a theory made up on this and another forum.
I do think that saying this or that is a smokescreen is giving way too much credit to the the folks in the GoI. It makes it sound as they know what they will be doing down the road. They have a hard time getting through the day. However, I will say that the CBI is very capable of putting out disinformation. IMHO, the folks running the CBI are much more on the ball. The CBI is where I'll look for information, not the GoI.
Agree with you whole heartedly.....the GoI is not smart enuff to put out smoke screens....Shabibi with the CBI is the guy who handles the RV....i have a hard time understanding these people that continually keep saying its a smoke screen....hell if thats the case this would have RV'd a long time ago....everytime they take a break its a smoke screen.....but nothing happens.....hoping for july because i don't see it in June....might even go as far as September...if we r lucky...IMHO...Pat
if I Were A Bettin' Man I'd Have To Say Mid-to- Late Sept. But It Wouldn't Suprise Me A Bit If These Guys Stalled Until January 1st. Imho The Real Key Here Is Not So Much The Hcl As The Opening Of The Isx To Us Infidels. When The Cbi Starts Talking About That Again, That's When My Interest Will Pick Back Up. The Rest Is Just Window Dressing
The RV needs to happen "BEFORE" all the laws take effect and before the ISX is open to those outside of Iraq, I would think that the RV would happen well in advance of all the laws coming into effect and the ISX opening, giving the
CBI time to absorb any effects the RV has on there books and numbers before the real influx of foreign investment/capitol comes into play. I would imagine the banks over there might be overwelmed with the funds that will start flowing when it is all said and done.

OK I WILL ACCEPT YOUR THOUGHTS!!!iT IS ONLY MY OPINION..BUT I SAY JULY COULD BE OUR MONTH!!!CLOSER TO THE END..BUT I WILL TAKE THE
FIRST PART OF JULY TOO!!!:banana:HERES TO HOPING!!!:leader::woohoo:
You are spot on with your assessment bud! Unless offcourse they postpone the opening of the isx to foreigners on the 1st of August 2007 again! Which is possible! not likely! My thoughts are the same RV before opening of isx! passing of the HCL and other laws next week! nO worries!
So, July Is A Very Good Possibility For The Rv?
"COMPUTER -- ACTIVATE IGNORE BUTTON!!"
"IGNORE BUTTON ACTIVATED -- CAPTAIN!"
ATMCSMD can be rather abrasive but there's no need to bash every word he "utters"! That is a perfectly legitimate question, asking for the reasoning behind the statement - and it's just what you all usually ask the "naysayers".
Also, if you don't like somebody and wish to ignore them, it really isn't necessary to make an announcement.
I liked it icemann, it was funny.LOL
Thanks for the support GS. I suppose I only have myself to blame for getting "ignored" for asking legit questions. I really would like to know why so many are assuming that anything on the docket for Iraq has to be preceeded by an RV. The only things I've ever read on the subject have been theories and assumptions but people keep making it sound as if it's fact.....ie "They have to RV before enacting the HCL." etc. Says Who? is what I'd like to know.
