I called the main branch - the 1-800 number. That's what I was told. She just told me it would be no problem. I wasn't surprised because Wachovia has gotten so huge. But you never know if who you're talking to is un-informed. Then wrong answers come out. What I didn't know is that Wachovia doesn't exchange currency. Hmmmmmmm. I'll try another call and talk to someone else. We'll see what the real deal is then.
Ok - now the way you spell doubt is "D-O-U-B-T". I love your spelling! (I'm just having fun with you):noserious
I really don't think that "cashing-in" for millions of USD will ever be a concern.
A nice fantasy - yes.
A legitimate concern - no.
That $5.00 is a transaction fee, it has nothing to do with the spread which is the rate they will cash you out at.[/quote]
Banks do not give you the established rate but "their rate" - that is how they make money. In my travels in China I paid the highest exchange rate than any country I had traveled in and there are many of them. I was told to take it or leave it. Needed to make the exchange so I "took" it and grumbled under my breath about it. The rates also changed daily.
I'm planning to go to the US next year, so i'll deffinetly stay in Cashville, lol
also ali wont pay in cash. his bank will transfer funds to your bank..dont expect him to fill up your suitcase w/cash when you show up. dcc is right-at what rate? this is all premature speculation until it happens then we will all shop the best rates.
Hey ching why dont you tell us about your experience of what went on in japan when the yen rved when you lived there....how well did you do?
Unfortunately I wasn't invested in Yen. I got clobbered in the sense that I got paid in dollars and had to convert my dollars into Yen, which, after the RV cost me twice as much. In other words my cost of living doubled overnight, rent, gas, utilities, food, drink. This was because it cost me twice as many dollars to buy the same amount of Yen. It went from 250 yen to the dollar to 125 overnight. My boss on the other hand had yen aplenty in the bank and doubled his money overnight if he converted them to dollars!
It can be done and it will be done! I have to make my money back after being shafted in Japan!
