Default A must read for us all.....

Neno I apoligize for posting this here. If it needs moved please do so and scream at me if you must. I think it's a fantastic idea.I recieved this as an email but had to look it up because it was too big....please read and pass along to our wonderful politicians

I have a question, not only for Douglas County, but for the entire state of Oregon. Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me, I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit. In order for me to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, which I have no problem with.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to go earn it for them?

Please understand, I have nothing against helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on their butt. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

What about this scenario.... You are right on saying a person needs to be urine tested also if they are accepting your tax dollars but take a second to check out this scenario. A young mother poor and addicted to drugs raising young kids. She uses welfare to take care of the kids but at the same time she buys drugs with it. She takes a urine test and fails. Her benefits are revoked and her children are left homeless and without food. Not because the kids are bad or for the fact that the kids are doing drugs but out of the fact that they are the children of a young mother addicted to drugs. Think about this scenario when thinking about a lot of people on welfare and how they should be treated....
(This is not meant to cause any controversy but just to change your thinking a bit)

Paulie while I can see your point, IMO a drug addicted mother on welfare has no business attempting to be a parent. She is not useing the money the way it is intended if she is snorting, shooting or smoking any of the funds given to assist her and her children. CPS should be notified and her kids should be given to more suitable, responsible people until she can get the help needed and get her act together. IMO that's one of the MAJOR problems today. There are way too many parents who see their children as a burden instead of a blessing. But thats just me...........

One of the reasons I think we all in here should help the poor children in Iraq and other countries.
Goodness, children suffer daily in North America too.
Where most of this forum is from.

One of the reasons I bought 'extra' dinar to help children worldwide and also the homeless.
Just waiting for the revalue as all of us.

Have you priced those tests recently? Better yet, have you priced those tests when they have gone through an approval process by a special panel and have been manufactured at one secure facility by one special government contractor and then special delivered to newly hired specially trained personnel working in the newly constructed drug-testing wing of every local DHS office??? The writer would prefer to waste all of our tax money testing urine, instead of helping moms and kids eat.

What about the recipients who take legal medication that would invalidate a drug test? On the surface it might seem like a good idea, but the logistics would negate the economic benefit. It is emotionally appealing to want to stop drug users from collecting benefits, but not at the expense of the truly needy. The idea has too many flaws to be practical, but it is food for thought.

Lumping all of the people that get assistance into one category and that is unemployed, drug using, and bad parents is ignorant. I agree that some of the people that are on assistance are doing in fraudently, however there are many more that aren't.

Addressing questionable individuals, beware the unintended consequences of some rule like that. Put people out of well-intentioned money (welfare) and you'll see opportunistic crime like robbery and burglary go up substatially. I agree that I would like to see help go to people that need it, but more prostitution and more drug sales by mothers desperate to care for children won't help a bit.

Do you mean that those of us who are contributing to her kid's support should feel guilty if we don't continue to do so...while she takes the kids support and spends it on her drugs?

If we are to provide charity for her kids...why not also assure that the support goes to the kids?

Things are broken and ineffective as they now stand.
Enjoy lots of friends...it really bugs your enemies...if you still have any.

All right people I have ignored this till now. I buried a son from drug abuse so if anyone has a right to weigh in on this discussion I do. This Forum is sit up for all of us DinarAholics, its set up so that those that have the time and the computor savvy can research into all of the places that they go to and bring us information on this wild investment that we are involved in. How many of you would have sold out your investment in Dinar a long time ago if it wasn't for all of the information that these wonderful reseachers find for us to keep us up to date and informed about why and when this may come to a head. This forum is not for you to discuse your views on drug use and collecting aid. I personnaly don't have the amount of free time that some of you do. I have enough time to come in here to read the info that is generated by these people for all of our benifit's. I do not have the time to sift thru this crap from some of you people. Lets keep this forum for what it is for, If you want to talk about any other issue's then please take it some where else.
