Default Has anyone lost in real estate?

I feel that in real estate a person never loses money. It can be a bad investment only under these conditions(a)When returns expected too soon.
(b)Disputed property.(c)'BAD LUCK' of highest order.
Kindly let me know if anyone has lost in real estate.

What if you suddenly had personal financial problems and you were unable to maintain the operating expenses of the property. This is what usually leads to foreclosure.

That is what I mean in the condition(a),when one tries to get returns too soon, irrespective of what the reason.Besides these three reasons I want to know if someone has ever lost.
