I recieved some info. on the iraqi people getting 250 dinar smart cards. At the current value, they can't help anyone much. I heard that they were going to activate them on 3/2. Has anybody else heard of this and what does this mean?

Yes - actually I have posted a few articles regarding the Smart Card in the News Section. It does appear that the amount varies from 150 - 250 depending on what people are entitled to from what I can gather. But as usual it does tend to be a bit arablish!
Whether it's 150 or 250 these cards are worthless at the current rate. They're are receiving 12 cents to 21 cents at 1170. If they don't RV what do they think the recipients will be able to do with this? The card, just like their currency, costs more to produce than it can be exchanged for. I hope this bodes well for us.
These cards certainly bode well for local use and definite not for outsiders like most of you are accustom to... and under a safer environment to withdraw large sums which again, isn't in effect to what these cards are to serve them by not stockpiling like container size cash tils behind the new ATM machines.
It is however, a climb and move towards a positive direction and it all needs time to be intergrated which appears eternal in the case of Iraq.
Di Nar I mention it before...? Its not this soon as anyone would wish for... but we're getting there and I hope you all live to see when that day arrives... :noserious:waiting:
Well if you're right Yogi they are going to have some upset retirees on March 2nd. Imagine getting a pension debit card with a whopping .21 on it :noserious. Why even bother? That's a "move towards a positive direction" like 1170 for over a month is "slow grow". In other words it's an oxymoron.
