This investment was NEVER going to be a short term exercise.
When it first came up there was a war in progress! Now there is some political infighting and a new government finding its way. We are, in my opinion a lot further ahead than we were, but we are still in the situation where we have no option than to sit quietly on our hands and KEEP THE FAITH!
Remember, it was a risk when you went in. You knew your investment was at risk, and could tank completely. Now we are seeing growth in their economy, stabilisation occurring, albeit slowly, and a light at the end of the tunnel. But it is a long tunnel so patience has to be the name of the game.
Good things ARE worth waiting for.

I agree completely , GrahamB.
One thing I never see discussed is the problem with "Over Speculation".. Yes, Kuwait had a value increase, happened quick, very little fanfare and looks like mostly "insider" types made money. Here we are many years into this investment, granted things are improving daily in Iraq, but look at the amount of IQD Outside Iraq. Dealers on every corner... Can they, will they, be able to support any RV of significant proportions?? Seaview, your thoughts and anyone else that is still hanging around.
By the way, please keep Socata in your prayers as he has a health issue that requires serious treatment and lots of prayer as he recovers.. Best, Warrior
How are you Warrior? Good to see u're back & posting and who is Socata?
A silent Rosary for him from my part... God bless his speedy recovery...:wigged::bow:
Socata posted daily on RC with the current CBI numbers for a very long time and then just was burned out. He is a very good friend on mine and RC, just had to step back a bit. Remember his slogan, "the more they take, the more we make".. Thank you for the prayers. This has been a long and trying venture. Went into it knowing probably long term and possiblilty we go bust. No surprise, just frustration.. Just curious about thoughts concerning the "over speculation".. I never looked for millions, just income to shore up my retirement and try to do some good work while on this planet. Best, Warrior
Hello everyone. Been a LONG time since I last posted here or anywhere regarding the Dinar.
It has been a great Summer and it is winding down in the upper midwest. Camping trips with the family, Sturgis with "the boys", working my tail off. That's what I've been doing.
Popped in to see what's up and it's nice to see the optimism still here.
The Dinar has been consistently GAINING in value. Slowly, yes, but when has it ever gone the other way? Never as far as I can remember. The only updates I've been getting are from Safe Dinar in e-mails when the exchange rate changes.
Maybe after the US elections are over, the Iraqi people can breathe a
... sigh of relief and get their country back.
I think that's what they really want and need. They need to be allowed the chance to stand on their own without Uncle Sam hovering over them.
Take care all and I'll be checking in from time to time.

Hello Warrior,
I think over speculation is a big problem. I don't think it used to be - but as time has gone on I think more and more people have entered into this and for that reason I don't believe anymore there will be an overnight RV. I hope very much they decide to go with slow grow but with the GCC Union looming in 2010 - I don't know anymore. Unless they enter at a later date. Maybe they will lop - it is a real possibility these days, however, money will still be made, just not as much.
I'm hoping for a slow and steady grow. I am in the ISX, but to be honest, I think that is risky as well and maybe sometime before any benefits from that are realised.
I hope Socata is on the mend and sorry to hear of his ill health - he was a great contributor and worked really hard for this forum.
Sorry Hardwood - not sure whats wrong with your edit button.
