just curious why it's so quiet in here today
Are we there yet? I guess I better get to some posts reading to see how far we've progressed and far we have yet to go. Or should it be how far Iraq has come?
Everything is postponed further as Parliament after deciding to extend their work session by a month; today said that they will be out of town for a week...
SO NO DEBATE ON THE OIL LAW, NO SECOND READING OF THE RETIREMENT AMENDMENT, NOT EVEN A NEW IRRIGATION ACT DEBATE ...BASICALLY, NOTHING WILL BE DONE FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK...
PARLIAMENT WILL NOT MEET AGAIN TILL Tuesday, 3 July 2007...
This has been meeting rose at thirteenth and twenty minutes, to be held on Tuesday, 7/03/2007 at eleven...
This is from the Parliament's own website...
NOTE:
So much for their word to be on duty to work on and pass the vital issues of the day...this would be a Monty Python joke if it wasn't so sad...It seems that one way or another...Parliament will drag its feet just to ****e America...Remember, they are still off for the entire month of August and given their track record (over the past year) it's starting to look like we will see nothing different even in September...big announcements but no follow thru...
Even Senator Lugar says this...
When Senator Lugar says:
"In my judgment, our course in Iraq has lost contact with our vital national security interests in the Middle East and beyond," said Lugar, one of the most respected voices in Congress on foreign policy matters..."
It is nearing the end of the free ride for Maliki and his crew!
http://bestsmileys.com/signs13/3.giffredgwest! http://bestsmileys.com/signs16/19.gifnot the best of news, but i'd rather know that they don't intend on doing anything for a set time frame than hoping something will be done the next day!
I say we call their bluff and start pulling troops out. This will either:
A. Make them say "Oh carp! Ok, ok, we will get things done A.S.A.P, we promise."
Or
B. We pull troops out, the restless are happy and they finish what they need to because they are now free of U.S. influence.
P.S. JMHO
Look at the positive side of this. We will either have a slam bang of a 4th of July or time to add to our IQD stash. However, it is nice to have this information in hand…

or...
C: Al Qaeda and those other boneheads take advantage of the pullout and plaster the media with "we won" propaganda making the US lose even more face among the world while at the same time they continue to run over the Iraqi military and take over Iraq.
ROTHFLMFAO!
We could have the U.N. send in a platoon of blue helmets to keep the peace or is that get a piece?
