why would we take there gold??
Just a brain fart here, but with the fear of the Terrorist gaining large sums of money with the RV, just tell me why the Iraq Government can’t place exchange rates (limit the amount that can be turned in on a given day) in place and get on with it?

HI, DANG!!!

Where it went?
Included in a July 14, 2003 White House war budget report to the US Congress, is a statement that a sample of some of the "gold-colored metal bars" recovered in Iraq was tested and were "comprised of approximately 64 percent copper and 34 percent zinc" and are "most likely melted-down shell casings."
Soldiers involved in the seizures find this difficult to believe, based on the hefty weight of the bars they handled.
The report mentioned "All the bars currently located at Camp Arifjan are being sent to Baghdad, where they most likely will be stored within one of the Ministry of Industry and Materials facilities...".
It may or may not have been pure gold, there's contradicting reports from what I can find, but my only thought is that when we confiscate something, it's ours. That's how things are here, at least, in drug busts, etc. boats, cars and many other things get confiscated.
Finders keepers? maybe, maybe not. I'm asking others if they have researched this and have answers to where it went and if it indeed was gold.
